Next weekend, we're taking on a fun one... We're attempting to break an 18 year old record for "most distance covered on a 50cc scooter in 24 hours". This goes down at Barber Motorsports Park, starting Sunday evening at 6pm. If you happen to be in the area, swing by the museum Monday and cheer our guy on, as he'll be about 14 hours in when they open...
We chose Ethan to ride the solo affair for a few reasons, one of which is that he's not a rider. That's important, because it makes him too dumb to realize how brutal this will become. Also of benefit is the fact he's a fit military kid, with a mind as tough as they come. Hopefully the same holds true for his tailbone...
Here's a MAJOR point of emphasis and we can use your help sharing this info if you will: We're taking commitments from now until the weekend to pledge a nickel, dime, quarter, or dollar per lap ridden. 100% of those proceeds will go directly to Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains. If everything goes right, that should shake out to between 200-275 laps. If you want in on that, email me at [email protected], title it "24 Hours", and state if you're a nickel, dime, quarter, or dollar person. When we're finished, we'll send PayPal invoices based on completed laps. Additionally, we'll do a random drawing from all that pay, and give away a $100 MNNTHBX gift card.
All of this made possible with the great support of our sponsors. RevZilla has Ethan geared up. Arai Helmet will be keeping that sweet mustache safe. Draft, one of the premier production studios in the southeast will release a documentary later in the year. Honda Motorcycles & ATVs put the race sled underneath him. Cardo Systems provided all the communication, and it's the best in the game. Yoshimura Research & Development of America, Inc. is making just enough sweet sound to keep him awake and look stylish doing it. Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum somehow thought this sounded like a good idea, and let us borrow the keys to the greatest track in the country.
Wish him luck, and again, please hit the share button. On behalf of MNNTHBX and Boys & Girls Club, much thanks...
