Before joining our team, he worked on commercial airliners, private jets, cargo aircraft, and police helicopters while holding FAA Airframe & Powerplant certifications.

Golf cart tires and balancing. It’s a question we get all the time:

“Will balancing my golf cart tires stop the bouncy ride?”

The simple answer is:

No.

Here’s why.

Most golf cart tires are 4 ply tires and are not steel belted radial tires like the tires on your car. Many are not DOT approved, especially aggressive off road tires. Even many street tires can come out of the factory slightly out of round.

If a tire is not perfectly round to begin with, no balancing machine can magically make it round. Balancing only helps compensate for weight differences. It does not correct an out of round tire.

Automotive tires are a completely different animal. DOT approved steel belted radial tires are built to much tighter tolerances because they are designed for highway speeds. That’s why balancing makes a much bigger difference on a car than it does on a golf cart.

Most golf carts are only traveling 20 to 35 mph. If your cart has a bouncy ride, balancing is not the solution.

The real fix is often a higher quality tire that is known for a smoother, quieter ride and is manufactured to better standards.

A lot of people still don’t realize that Solar City Carts does full custom builds too. We’re not just sales and service. We can handle custom wraps, partial wraps, powder coating, custom upholstery, audio upgrades, lighting, wheels, tires, suspension setups, and just about anything you can imagine for your golf cart.

We’ve got a few really cool projects in the works right now, but we’re especially excited about this one.

A Breezy EV Breeze 6L getting the full LSU super fan treatment in purple and gold with custom LSU graphics throughout the entire build. This customer trusted us to bring his vision to life and we’re going all in on this one.

The seats are already completed. Powder coating wraps up this week. Full custom wrap goes on next week. After that, this cart gets a complete audio and lighting overhaul with upgraded speakers, a new sound bar, dual 8 inch subwoofers, custom lighting everywhere, and enough glow to light up the neighborhood like Las Vegas.

This thing is going to be absolutely insane when it’s finished.
