Spark plugs are a critical part of your vehicle's engine. Spark plugs ignite the fuel and air mixture in your engine to create combustion. Spark plugs can tell you a lot about your engines health and also need to be replaced from time to time as they do eventually wear out or can become damaged. Worn out or damaged spark plugs can cause bad fuel economy, lack of power, and engines to run rough. Generally spark plugs should be replaced every 75,000 to 100,000 miles. If your vehicle is close to 100,000, or 200,000 miles you might wanna think about getting your spark plugs replaced.

A car or truck might have a solid body and look in good condition but rust holes such as the ones in the pictures could be hiding underneath. We offer vehicle inspection services here at Alex's Fox River Auto.

We understand that not all of our customers have a schedule that allows them to drop off their vehicles to be worked on during the day and that is why we have a secure key drop box right next to our front door. Due to our busy schedule we really appreciate it when our customers are able to drop their vehicles off ahead of time even if it's a day or two early. That way we can keep the shop full and the work flowing. Sometimes we get a cancellation or even just ahead of schedule and that allows us to get to your vehicles sooner. Dropping off early is not a requirement, but sometimes it can be a big convenience to both us and you. Thank you all for being amazing customers and we hope to hear from you soon! 😁

Cabin air filters are a very simple maintenance that is often forgotten about but can have a huge impact on your vehicle. The cabin air filter is the filter between the fresh air from outside to the air inside your vehicle. The filter is usually located behind your glove box. Because it is close to the heater core that provides heat to the inside of your vehicle animals like to build nests on these filters. A dirty filter can cause foul odors in your vehicle. If you have not had your cabin air filter serviced recently let us know. We will check the condition of your filter and evict any unwanted pests and their homes they may have built.

I have patched a lot of tires over the years. Too many to count. I don't think I have ever seen anything go through the side wall of a tire twice like this metal pin did. Unfortunately we can not patch holes in the side walls of tires. We ordered a new tire for this customer. Thankfully the tire didn't blow out on the customer and the metal pin on the side wall missed the rim and did not damage it.

Got a leaky tire? Tires bald and need replacing? Maybe your tires are wearing unevenly and you need an alignment. Whether it's a patch, replacement, or alignment we got you covered. Give us a call or stop on in to get your appointment set up.

Drive carefully friends.

(I filled my tires up but my tire light is still on.) We hear this statement from customers pretty regularly. When this happens more often than not it's not a low tire triggering the tire light but an issue with the tire sensor itself.

An easy way to tell if it's a sensor issue is by looking at the light when you first start your car. Is the tire light flashing? If it is, you have an issue with your tire sensors. Some vehicles will also display a message too like, ( service tire monitor system. Or service TPMS.) This too is a good indicator that you have an issue with your tire sensors. We use a scan tool to check each individual tire sensor. We can see what the sensor is reading for pressure, the temperature of the sensor and the battery life.

The usual problem with tire sensors is that they have a small battery that dies after a certain amount of years. 8-10 usually. The fix is to have the sensors replaced and the cars sensors relearned. Here at Alex's Fox River Auto we have the tools and sensors on hand to take care of all your tire sensor needs. Give us a call, or stop on in if you would like us to help you out with your tire sensors.
