Summit 4X4 Company began in 2012 with Jesse customizing vehicles on the side and has since grown into a full service custom build 44 shop specializing in Jeeps and Toyotas. Our mission is to help off-roaders, whether new to the sport or seasoned veterans, enjoy the adventure lifestyle by building and maintaining the 44 vehicle that best fits their needs. We do this by ensuring that every customer has an excellent experience throughout every interaction with us. Every part on this Gladiator is there for a reason.

When you are building a rig this capable, the parts list is not about brand names. It is about what works together and what holds up when it actually gets used. Here is what is going into this one and why:

EVO Manufacturing EVO MFG for suspension geometry and fabrication built specifically for the JT platform
𝙆𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝘾𝙆𝙎 coilovers and bumpstops for control and a ride that stays composed when things get rough
Bruiser Conversions LX3 V8 for serious power with full factory integration
Currie Enterprises axles to handle the bigger tires and the added power without flinching
RPM Steering paired with PSC Motorsports so it tracks straight and stays tight with all that weight up front
WARN Industries | Since 1948 winch because the trail always gets the final say.

And, as usual, a few more goodies along the way.

Lockers & Lattes is happening Saturday, November 7th, from 8am to noon at Thumb Butte Coffee Company, 402 E. Sheldon St. in Prescott.

And for those who have been around a while, yes, that address should look familiar. That building was our old shop. Pretty cool to be bringing the off-road crowd back home for a morning.

Park your rig, grab a coffee and hang out with the local off-road community. No agenda, no pressure, just good people, good coffee and a parking lot full of cool builds.

Old Jeeps do not survive by accident.

The CJs, YJs, XJs and TJs still out there turning heads and hitting trails all have one thing in common. Someone kept up with them. Fresh fluids, new bushings, solid wiring, steering that tracks straight and a close eye on rust before it spreads.

These rigs were built simple and built tough, which is exactly why they can run for decades with the right care. Stay ahead of the small stuff and they will keep paying you back in miles and memories.

The 3rd gen 4Runner is the one a lot of people still call the sweet spot.

When it arrived for 1996, Toyota did not just refresh the 4Runner. It grew up. A completely new platform, a longer wheelbase, coil springs at all four corners and a cabin that finally felt comfortable on long highway drives. It rode better than anything before it without giving up the toughness that made the name.

Then came the engine that sealed its reputation. The 3.4L 5VZ-FE V6, the motor that became famous for racking up miles most engines never see. A 2.7L four cylinder was offered too, but the 3.4 is the one people still go looking for today.

For the folks who actually wheeled them, Toyota offered a factory rear locker on select 4x4 models. A big deal for a stock SUV back then, and still a selling point now.

Base, SR5 and Limited trims gave buyers everything from a simple, tough rig to a leather lined cruiser, with comfort features like power everything, better seats and a quieter ride stepping up through the lineup.

Reliable, capable, comfortable and still all over the trails decades later.

That is a legacy you do not build by accident.

The Raptaho came in for a checkup before its biggest adventure yet.

Jillian drove it all the way down from Idaho for a once-over, pre-race inspection, and service before heading south for the NORRA 500 in the Safari class. Colton talked to her about the build, the race, and what is ahead.

We built this truck for exactly this kind of moment. Now it is time to go race through Baja.

Follow along with Jillian Jillian Rebekah and the crew down south: Christina Christina Luppi, Jason Jason Riggs, and Travis k5junkie. You will not want to miss this one.
