Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week celebrates and thanks those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It is a week that should be set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication. Telecommunicators are the true First responders and we at the PPD and many other agencies in Autauga County rely on Autauga County 911 for our dispatch needs. Not only law enforcement, but also fire, EMS, volunteer services, ambulance dispatch, etc. We are truly grateful for the services they provide and the professionalism they exhibit as the perform this essential function of public safety.
