Customer: I saw it in Pimp My Ride…

Justin, who actually appeared on the show, says the reality behind the scenes on 'Pimp My Ride' was far less glamorous than what we were sold on MTV.

According to him, many of the wild upgrades were rushed, poorly installed, or purely for show. Once filming wrapped, some features didn’t work properly, broke almost immediately, or even had to be removed because they were unsafe or illegal to drive with. The jaw-dropping TV moment, he claims, often didn’t translate to a car you could actually live with.

He also says the timeline we saw on screen was misleading. What looked like a lightning-fast makeover sometimes took far longer, and parts of the process were staged or reshot to boost the drama. The excitement, the surprise, the chaos — it wasn’t always as spontaneous as it seemed.
