Thanks to the Hagerty Drivers Foundation for sharing our prestigious Hagerty Drivers Foundation & FIVA Preservation Award in honor of Dr. Fred Simeone at the 2026 Greenwich Concours for our 11k miles 1960 Cadillac 62S convertible.

“You can restore just about any car with the money, but you can’t make a car original again. They’re only original once”, says Frank Nicodemus, Jr.

Frank, an expert Cadillac restorer, found this 1960 Cadillac Series 62 in long term storage with less than 11,000 miles under its belt. The original owner, a Navy Aviator had the car shipped overseas when new. In the engine compartment are two peculiar details; a wrench taped to the core support to disconnect the battery during shipping, and the VIN painted in stenciled letters, both original evidence that Frank keeps intact. Frank purchased the car from its second owner who carefully stored it for years, creating a literal time capsule. A careful mechanical recommissioning at Frank’s shop, brought the car back to a safe and reliable condition to be in the spotlight once again.
This Cadillac took home the Hagerty Drivers Foundation & Preservation Award in honor of Dr. Fred Simeone, at this year’s !"

That time the then President of General Motors asked us to restore his 1961 Cadillac 62 convertible. One of our more challenging projects, the car arrived at the point where it could no longer be safely driven.

The car held tremendous sentimental value as he purchased it with his very first bonus check as a young investment banker, his first date with the woman who'd become his bride was in the car and, he drove it everywhere from the streets of Manhattan to the Hamptons on Long Island. So, restoration was the only option for this car.

1961 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz we restored and sent back to its owner down under in 2014/15. We were surprisingly reunited with her at the 2026 Greenwich Concours where its current owner had her displayed. She's still looking amazing. Note: that boot cover is new and not the original style cover from when we restored the car.
