1969 VW beetle heater channel replacement plus spot rust repairs. We had to separate the body from the floor pan and brace the door pillars before cutting out what was left of the old heater channel. Then after that was all welded back in we seam sealed it all and modified the original body cart we had made prior, bolted it down to that for the trip to the paint shop on Tuesday. Engine nearly all assembled but waiting on carburetor to get back. Next step is to weld up any other cracks or holes in fenders before it leaves. The good is that the floor pan needs zero welding somehow!!

1969 VW Beetle out of Moscow ID here for refresh. Engine reseal and new top end. German solex carb sent out for throttle shaft bushings and new gaskets. Disassembled body for rust repair and to send to paint. Made cart to put body on after we separate it from floor pan. Looks to only be two holes on rear wheel houses and a drivers side heater channel rusted out. Fairly good condition for its age. It’s going back to all stock running gear and stock colors red interior with white exterior. With the only exception of front disc brakes and three point seatbelts upgraded.

1963 Volkswagen Beetle driver side heater channel repair. I made the section from a donor real quick, and then trimmed it down to fit. Next the floor pan will go in.

Anthracite grey 1963 Volkswagen Beetle rear parcel tray and rear floor pan supports repair. Another big chunk of ugly gone on this one. Took me the longest time to get the prior rear wheel house repair to a presentable state. Bad mess from decades ago. We got it fixed up. Can put in one side of the floor pan next.

What do you do after you just finished a mechanical engineering degree from the university of Idaho ? You do Red oak stepside bed wood 2.0, varnished it all and installed in the 57 chevy shop pickup. Turned out a little too nice compared to the rest of the truck but oh well!

With the help of a friend, I have attained some super rare dealer option 1973 American made wheels for my lovely brides Karmann Ghia. Superior industries volksmags, aka turtlebacks. Had to have the special one off lug bolts made, because they are impossible to find anywhere. Currently they are at the polisher after we got them coated up in gloss black after soda blast. Should turn out amazing! :)
