Don't Let Harvest Season Drive You Crazy! 🚜🌾

Hey road family! It’s officially harvest season, which means our local farmers are hard at work, and farm equipment will be sharing the asphalt with us.

Slow-moving tractors can turn a quick commute into a slow crawl, so don't get driven to distraction! Here are a few quick tips to make sure your daily drive stays on the right track:

🚜 Yield to the Big Rigs: Farm machinery moves much slower than normal traffic—usually under 25\text{ mph}. If you see one ahead, ease off the gas early so you don't end up boxed in.

⏳ Give Yourself Extra Runway: Leave a few minutes early so you aren't tempted to steer into trouble by making risky passes. Patience is key!

👀 Look Out for Blind Spots: Larger equipment makes it harder for farmers to see behind them. Don't tailgate—stay back where their mirrors can spot you.

🛣️ Pass with Caution: Only pass when you have a clear view, legal passing zones, and enough horsepower to complete the maneuver safely. Never assume a tractor turning left is letting you pass on the left!

September schedule is now up!

A few scheduling changes….

I have divided Posey county into 4 scheduling areas now. What does this mean? It may seem like I am in each area less when you go to schedule, but there are now fewer students assigned to an area. I have at least one day a week in each of these areas along with a day in Evansville and Newburgh.

Time between drives…I have put a minimum amount of days between drives. This is so that I am checking the progress each student is making throughout the time they have to hold their permit. Some kids like to schedule all of their drives the first month they have their permit and they then pick up bad habits. This helps eliminate that since I will see them as they become more confident drivers which is when bad habits may appear.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Us! 🚗🎉

As we celebrate our 3rd Birthday today, I can’t help but look in the rearview mirror and be absolutely amazed by how far we’ve come! We are shifting into high gear, and the numbers show we’ve been firing on all cylinders:

* 111,111+ Miles Driven: That’s a lot of rubber on the road!

* 900+ Behind-the-Wheel Lessons: Navigating the twists and turns of driver ed together.

* Almost 400 Students Enrolled: We are so close to hitting that landmark 400th student milestone this weekend!

* 214 Graduates: Safely steered through the program and ready for the open road.

I am incredibly grateful for how this amazing community has fueled our journey and kept us in the right lane. Thank you for choosing us to help guide the next generation of drivers—we look forward to many more miles together! 🗺️✨
