That's the story behind BRISE DE MER, a 1987 Little Harbor 53. After seven years aboard, her owners have moved up to a larger Little Harbor, and she's ready for her next chapter.

We've talked about Little Harbor craftsmanship and centerboard designs. BRISE DE MER shows off a few more of the thoughtful details that make Little Harbor owners so loyal:

🔹 A rare two-cabin layout. Most 53s have three cabins. BRISE DE MER has an oversized, full-width master forward with a queen berth, plus a private VIP cabin aft. Each cabin has its own head and separate stall shower.

🔹 Storage that makes sense. Fuel and water tanks sit below the cabin sole, which frees up huge storage space under the seats and adds stiffness overall.

🔹 A versatile cutter rig. She carries a furling main, genoa and staysail, plus an asymmetrical spinnaker for light air.

🔹 Light and airy below. She has 17 opening portholes, 11 deck hatches and six topside windows, so it's bright and breezy down below, not dark and closed in.

What a beautiful day for a sail! Tuesday was picture-perfect on the water, and MYSTERY showed off her style and capability!

Meet MYSTERY, a custom Ted Fontaine–designed 63' pilothouse sloop built by Lyman-Morse in Thomaston, Maine, now listed for sale with Wellington Yacht Partners.

Conceived for fast, comfortable offshore cruising with a small crew, she pairs a carbon rig and powered sail handling with a protected center cockpit and inside steering station in her pilothouse. Her keel/centerboard design gives her a 6'6" draft with the board up for shoal cruising grounds, and 14'2" with the board down for upwind performance.

Below, a Herreshoff-inspired interior of varnished mahogany and classic painted panels offers three private cabins and three heads, comfortably accommodating three couples.
