I received sad news that a somewhat ‘mentor’ of mine passed away. Mark Mason is probably best known for his restoration of BABY BOOTLEGGER, and his vast knowledge of pre-war racing boats. Every conversation I had with him left me reinvigorated with enthusiasm for projects I’ve been working on. I aspired to his knowledge, while he was probably wondering why this kid (me) kept calling him with all these random questions. Without him, I’m not sure who to ask. I tried to find a picture of he and I bombing around in CURTISS-WILGOLD II (above) but I can’t find it. Shame.
