Annual Toys-for-Tots Labor Day Car Show Monday, September 4, 2023

Things will be a bit different this year (2021) with the Toys for Tots car show because the group that has organized this show for perhaps 20 or so years (first Auburn, then Windham, then Portland Motor Club) are moving the show at least for this year to Hodgman's Frozen Custard Stand and beautiful grounds and they are doing the show on Saturday, AUG 14.

There was some question on our (PMC's) part whether we could do the show this year so the show organizers went ahead and moved it at least for this year. Ultimately we decided that we could and should do the show since we have been advertising it for months and because the event is a bit of an institution and because we wanted to support the Toys for Tots effort too.

So the good news is that there are now two shows to support Toys for Tots: the originators' show in New Gloucester on AUG 14 from 9AM to 2PM with various treats available: coffee & donuts early and then lunch and Hodgman's famous frozen custard; and then our 13th show at Portland Motor Club on Labor Day from 10AM to 1PM with a 50/50 and grilled lunch food available. Hopefully the Marines will be on hand for both events.

If you have to pick between the shows, please pay homage to the many years of effort by the original organizers and bring your toys to Hodgmans. If Labor Day works better or if you want to go to both shows, certainly please come see ours on Labor Day.

Let's celebrate that we have two Toys for Tots shows this year and an additional car show to enjoy!!!

It's happening again, like clockwork or, more accurately, like calendarwork... It's our 11th annual Portland Motor Club Labor Day Car Show to benefit Toys for Tots. And this year, it's ON Labor Day (just like every year).
It's a cruise-in-style show so there's no judging -- just a lot of great cars and trucks. Please bring new unwrapped toys for kids or useful items for teens.
The lot opens at 275 Presumpscot Street at 8:30. The show is from 10AM to 1:30PM with 200+ cars, Maine Vintage Race Car Association mobile museum!!! Food, music, prizes, 50/50.

The All-Club Toys for Tots Cruise-In Car Show celebrates its 10th year (8 of them at Portland Motor Club) on Labor Day Monday this September 5, 2016 from 10 AM until 1:30 PM. All show-worthy cars and vehicles are welcomed. Line-up starts at 8:30. Last year we counted over 300 coming to and through the show.
We'll have a 50/50 raffle, food, US Marines, and lots and lots of toys -- thanks to you! A new unwrapped toy or donation for entry fee and visitors are encouraged to do the same.
The Marines have even told us that practical items for teens are also encouraged -- again, new and unwrapped.
We end the show with an ice cream run (or is it frozen custard?) if you wish to parade along to an undisclosed delicious location.
The show is rain or shine although we prefer shine -- but we held it even during a hurricane one of those years -- and folks still showed up to deliver hundreds of toys!!!
Car show stalwarts Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Stan and their dedicated crew will be doing what they do best!
And you'll be able to take a look into the vault at Portland Motor Club to see one of the nation's finer Mopar collections (in the Moparlor, of course) as well an assortment of classics and exotics housed at the facility.
Come for the duration or stop by for a while. We look forward to seeing you (and your toys)! Oh, and your cars!!!
