This incredible late-1940s Silk City Diner recently made the journey from New Hampshire to New York, marking another chapter in its remarkable story.

Originally manufactured by the Paterson Vehicle Company, this classic diner served generations of customers before sitting abandoned for decades. Now, it's on the move once again—headed toward restoration and a second life as a operating restaurant.

We’re excited to share a major milestone for Hale Trailer as we officially broke ground on our new S**o, Maine property! 🎉🚧
A special thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

The program was MC'd by Joey Smith from Great Falls Construction, and featured remarks from Peter Scontras (S**o City Historian), Tracey DesJardins (City of S**o Economic Development Director), Dave Lockett (Facilities & Construction Manager), and Neal Bangor (Branch Manager).

A ceremonial dirt toss followed, led by Mike Proctor, Kenny Fredette, Rich Weindel, Dave Lockett, Neal Bangor, Tracey DesJardins, Peter Scontras, and Matt Orr.

We were also proud to have key partners in attendance from Great Falls Construction, R.J. Grondin, and additional project partners who are helping bring this new facility to life.
Once complete, our Portland operations will relocate to S**o—marking an exciting new chapter for our team and continued growth in the region.
More updates to come as construction progresses!
