The ❄ and ice is here! I see alot of people posting tips about how to stay safe. Here is what I think you should do.
1. Keep some stuff in your car. You should already have a winter emergency kit in your vehicle. (I'll probably post a video about that soon)
2. Clear your vehicle of snow properly. Clear the Windshield paying extra attention to wipers. Clear your hood and roof as well. You don't want to be one of the people driving around with 6 inches of pent up snow on your roof just waiting for the opportunity to blind you.
3. Know your limitations and your vehicle. Awd doesn't help you stop or steer on the ice. Heavier vehicles stop slower. If you don't feel comfortable, stay home.
4. Don't drive slow, drive cautiously. Alot of people give the bad advice of "drive slow".. This is not right! Drive cautiously. Momentum can be your friend and your enemy. There are alot of rolling hills in Oregon. Braking down a straight hill just so you have to accelerate up the other side is not ideal. Keep momentum and keep distance.
