*School Zone Safety Advisory from Sheriff Stephen and your SROβs*
We are all excited and maybe a little anxious about the first day of school!! Monday will be here soon enough, and we would like to remind everyone of a few Traffic Rules and Etiquette that we should all know and follow.
Did you know that during the first week of school, more parents are dropping off their students and picking them up than during any other time of the school year? We ask that you bring your patience, be courteous to others, leave early, and plan ahead for heavier traffic. When you approach school zones, pay attention to crosswalks, and posted speed limits.
Please do not try to beat the traffic signals or block intersections, thus impeding the flow of traffic.
Watch for students at bus stops, be cautious in your neighborhoods and streets while students wait for their busses to arrive. Reduce your speed, avoid distractions, and be watchful and mindful of every student and guardian.
Observe and obey Crossing Guards, they are looking out for and taking care of our students every day.
Lets work together, and get everyone to school safely!
