IMPORTANT SCALLOP SEASON UPDATE:

MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife has announced that the 2026 recreational bay scallop harvest season in the Gulf County Zone, including St. Joseph Bay, has been closed.

According to FWC, surveys conducted this summer showed very low bay scallop abundance in St. Joseph Bay. The precautionary closure is intended to help protect the existing scallop population and support future seasons.

While scallop harvesting will not be permitted in St. Joseph Bay this season, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy time on the water at Presnell’s. Fishing, boating, swimming, and exploring beautiful St. Joseph Bay remain open.

We know many of our guests look forward to scallop season each year, and we appreciate everyone doing their part to help protect this special resource for seasons to come.
