This business was always my Dad’s pride and joy. Even though he hated having motor oil on his hands to the point where he would wash them constantly. His hands were always a little rough, and you could always see the hard work under his finger nails. But he loved what he did. He loved helping people, and he loved cars. I grew up never knowing what car I’d be picked up from school in, or what his next project would be. But he wasn’t just a mechanic, and he didn’t just fix cars, everyone he has ever met, he has helped, not just by fixing their cars, but by healing them in some way, just by being himself. That’s why ER automotive was such a perfect name, he could heal your car and your broken heart at the same time. I miss him so much, I don’t know who’s gonna do my next oil change, but it will never be the same when I can’t go to his shop, steal some of his sodas and hear his voice when he tells me I need to check my oil more often or go easier on my brakes. I love you Dad. And I’m still proud of you. We all are.
