🚨 THIS TOW DID NOT GO THE WAY I EXPECTED… 🚨
Tuesday, September 15 started as a completely normal tow.
At least that’s what I thought.
I pulled into the Walmart Supercenter on Cochran Boulevard in Port Charlotte to pick up a customer’s Chrysler 300.
Nothing unusual.
I had authorization.
I had my paperwork.
I was in my JNS Towing Services uniform with my company logo on it.
I was there doing exactly what we do every day.
I started hooking up the Chrysler…
And then I noticed something.
Someone was watching me. 👀
Not just casually looking over.
WATCHING.
There was a charcoal-gray Audi SUV—looked like a Q3 or Q5—parked RIGHT beside my tow truck.
Engine running.
Someone sitting inside.
And when I say right beside me, I mean this person had FRONT-ROW VIP SEATING. 😂
They were so close that if we find them, don’t ask what my tow truck looks like…
Ask them what color the INTERIOR is. 🤣
They probably know my mileage.
They might know when my next oil change is due.
Heck, they might have gotten the VIN number. 😂
At first, I didn’t think anything of it. People watch us work all the time. Between the tow truck, the wheel lift and the 100+ lights on that truck, people are naturally curious.
But then I walked back toward my truck…
And through the tinted windshield of that Audi, I saw it.
📱
A PHONE POINTED DIRECTLY AT ME.
They were recording me.
Okayyyyy… 👀
Now you’ve got my attention.
I looked toward the Audi.
They realized I realized they were recording.
And suddenly…
THE LIGHTS ON THE AUDI WENT OFF.
🤨😂
Now this is getting interesting.
But here’s the thing:
I’M NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG.
So I went right back to work.
Straps on.
Chrysler secured.
Everything done exactly the way it’s supposed to be.
A little while later, I turn around…
and the Audi is pulling away.
Gone.
I didn’t confront them. Didn’t chase them. Didn’t even think much more about it.
Maybe they liked the truck.
Maybe they were curious.
Maybe they were admiring my beautiful wheel-lift skills. 😂
Whatever.
I was ready to finish the tow and go.
Except…
I wasn’t going anywhere.
Because not even THREE MINUTES LATER…
🚔🚔🚔
THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PULLS UP.
And that’s when it hit me…
OHHHHHHHH… THAT’S WHAT THE AUDI WAS DOING! 😂😂😂
Apparently somebody thought they had just witnessed a Chrysler 300 being stolen from Walmart.
And apparently the suspected car thief was…
🙋♂️
ME.
Standing there in my JNS Towing Services uniform…
Beside my tow truck…
Hooking up a vehicle…
Doing my job.
😂😂😂
But I’ll give the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office credit because they didn’t just look at my uniform and say:
“Oh, he’s wearing a towing shirt. He’s good.”
NOPE.
Your boy got the FULL PACKAGE DEAL. 🤣
ID checked. ✅
Paperwork checked. ✅
Towing agreement checked. ✅
Authorization checked. ✅
And because my customer wasn’t physically there…
📞 THE DEPUTY CALLED MY CUSTOMER.
They personally verified that JNS Towing Services had authorization to pick up that Chrysler.
Customer confirmed everything.
100% LEGITIMATE. ✅😂
All together, it probably added 10–15 minutes to the job.
Was it inconvenient?
Yeah, a little.
But after I stopped laughing about the situation, something hit me.
I’M ACTUALLY GLAD IT HAPPENED.
And I’m glad that person cared enough to make that call.
That stranger didn’t know me.
They didn’t know my customer.
They didn’t know why I was taking that Chrysler.
All they knew was:
“Something doesn’t look right to me, and I’m not going to ignore it.”
And that means a lot more to me than that person probably realizes.
Those who really know me know that I’m Philadelphia born and raised.
I spent most of my life there. I raised my family there. I’ve been a business owner since I was young—from owning tractor-trailers, to towing, to eventually owning an automotive repair shop.
Philadelphia taught me a LOT.
It made me who I am today.
But it also taught me to always be aware of my surroundings.
Watch where you park.
Watch your vehicles.
Watch your trucks.
Watch your business.
Always be paying attention.
So when my wife and I made the decision to leave everything I knew and move to this part of Florida, I had a lot of questions.
Was I really moving toward a better quality of life?
Was I actually going to find the peace and tranquility I was looking for?
Because I’ll tell you something:
I’m not making the same money here that I was making after all those years of building businesses in Philadelphia.
And I’m perfectly okay saying that.
Because since moving here, I’ve learned something:
YOU CANNOT PUT A PRICE ON PEACE. 🙏
You can’t put a dollar amount on tranquility.
You can’t put a price on coming home and actually relaxing.
You can’t put a price on feeling comfortable where you live.
And Tuesday at Walmart gave me something I wasn’t expecting:
CONFIRMATION.
Think about it.
If I actually WAS stealing that Chrysler…
Somebody was recording me.
Somebody was paying attention.
And within approximately three minutes of that Audi leaving, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office was standing there.
😂 I WASN’T GETTING VERY FAR!
That’s a community looking out for one another.
That’s law enforcement responding.
That’s exactly the kind of place I wanted when we decided to start this next chapter of our lives.
Where I grew up, somebody might have called what that person did “snitching.”
I’m older now.
I look at things differently.
THAT’S NOT SNITCHING. THAT’S LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR NEIGHBOR.
And I’ll gladly lose 10–15 minutes of my day if that’s the price of living somewhere people care enough to make sure somebody else’s property isn’t being stolen.
So to whoever was inside that Audi:
THANK YOU. 🙏💜
You actually helped confirm something for me that was much bigger than that Chrysler 300.
My wife and I made the right move.
⸻
😂📱 BUT NOW… I NEED FACEBOOK TO DO ITS THING.
Because there’s still ONE unfinished piece of this story:
I WANT THAT VIDEO! 😂😂😂
And I have this funny feeling that after that Audi pulled away, you may have parked somewhere else in the Walmart parking lot to see what happened.
Because come on…
If you thought you just caught somebody stealing a Chrysler 300, YOU HAD TO SEE HOW THE MOVIE ENDED! 🤣
So if you kept recording and caught the deputies pulling up or any part of the interaction…
PLEASE tell me you still have it!
I genuinely want to see it.
I want to hear what you were thinking.
I want to know what was being said inside that Audi.
And most importantly, I want to laugh about this WITH you—not AT you.
Maybe we meet. Shake hands. Grab lunch somewhere and laugh about the day you thought you caught JNS Towing Services stealing a Chrysler 300 from Walmart. 😂
And I want to make something else VERY CLEAR:
🚨 PLEASE DO NOT PUBLICLY IDENTIFY THIS PERSON.
Don’t post their name.
Don’t tag them.
Don’t post a license plate.
Don’t put their personal information in the comments.
We’re not trying to expose anybody.
If you think you know who it was, contact THEM privately and send them this post.
Let them decide whether they want to contact JNS.
If they reach out, whatever conversation we have can stay between them and JNS Towing Services.
No embarrassment.
No hard feelings.
No putting anybody’s business on Facebook.
This is supposed to end with everybody LAUGHING. 😂💜
⸻
