It's a sand Santa!
Several sand sculptors have been working for the past few days to create a Santa's workshop sand sculpture in a vacant lot at the corner of Alister and Brown streets in Port Aransas.
A South Jetty photographer snapped this photo as the sculptors worked today. In the foreground is Abe Waterman of Oakland, Calif. Behind Waterman is Albert Lucio Sr. of Corpus Christi.
Hopes are that the sculpture will be finished by Monday afternoon. It's expected to remain in place through early January, depending on weather.
Members of the public should feel free to drop by and take pictures after the sculpture is finished, but folks are asked not to climb on the creation.
The sculpting project has come about as a result of efforts by the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau and Chamber of Commerce, with help from various sponsors.

I have some very exciting news!! Starting Monday we will be serving breakfast! Starting at 8am to 11am. Avocado toast, smoked salmon toast, bagel box's, come out and see us.☺
