If you ever wonder how are prices could be 40% less than competitors..... A recent customer was quoted $350 an hour for a tow vessel responding from over an hour away. Thats Response time, tow time, and return time. We charge the same way, just in true time. Competitors pricing was raised due to increased Marina fuel costs. We get the increase in cost. We do not use Marina fuel. We are the small guys. We have to keep costs low. We trailer fuel in, or trailer to the gas station. We are mobile. While trailering to our latest call, we charge less for trailer time. This also cut half the response time. We charge by distance, not time. Why? Time can be manipulated, distance cannot. While they have raised prices for the uninsured, or under insured, we are keeping our prices the same. Our office is in the home, most of our maintenance is out of home garage and driveway. Our niche is the uninsured or under-insured, and services not covered under competitors memberships. We also charge less, not more for the commercial fleets

We are happy to report both capts are ok. We have offered Capt Hill with Tow Boat US Potomac some tips and training to prevent such a future catastrophic commercial accident from happening again. We look forward to reading the Coast Guard and NTSB accident investigation to help prevents further incidents like this from happening again. As the vessels are being repaired, we offer our services to help fill gap as we have a vessel at Coles Point. Certain advanced towing methods are taught in Mate of Towing, and not touched in assistance towing course. Since we still have course materials, and are federal certified instructors, we can develop a course to further expand on "tripping".

It makes out hearts happy to know that the boaters that overturned in the York River are safe. Take a look at 3 weather apps to get a good picture for the future of the day. We saw this blind front predicted on windy.com. also send a float plan to friends or relatives on land. We were off Buckroe on way back from Elizabeth River when it hit. Be prepared.

This fuel trailer has paid for itself already. With the bigger boat coming, might have to add a second fuel caddy to trailer. Also gas buddy app help me find fuel 30 cents cheaper than local station.
