Kicked off America’s 250th Independence Day weekend by machining racing airplane parts on a American manufactured machine!
The goal is to produce both parts from one chunk of 7075 with 3 axis capability only. A lot of fixture changes but the VPS(visual probing system) in the Haas controls makes it a breeze! Check out the next videos to see it come to life!
All of the tool paths were created using and as you can see, being able to visualize each step makes it translate into real life very easily!
Time to make chips!

Getting very acquainted with this VF3 from
I’m very impressed with the intuitive nature of the controls. I expected a much larger learning curve and attribute the perceived ease to the Haas engineers putting a lot of thought and talent into the whole system. Any guesses as to what we’re wildling out here?
