🚫 Stickers are Gone: Due to Larry Bagley Louisiana State Representative for District 7’s bill being signed into law by Governor Jeff Landry, Sherman's Glass will no longer be issuing or applying inspection stickers.

🚗 Huge news for Louisiana drivers! As of May 14, 2026, the Louisiana Senate voted 27-7 to pass House Bill 1085, abolishing the state's traditional vehicle inspection sticker program. 📋❌

The bill, supported by Governor Jeff Landry, replaces the old "brake tag" system with a $6, registration-linked QR code sticker. ⚜️📲

The change officially takes effect on Jan. 1, 2027, for 59 parishes! 🗓️🚘

It’s time for another update from the team at Sherman's Glass Inc.! 🚗💨

We have been getting a lot of questions about vehicle inspections since moving into our new facility, so we want to clear the air about where we currently stand.

In Louisiana, Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI) licenses are strictly site-specific. Because we changed locations, our previous license does not transfer over. Instead, regulations require us to reapply for a brand new station license from scratch.

However, as many of you have seen in the news, the Louisiana Legislature is actively debating the entire future of the state's traditional brake tags, with proposals moving forward to replace windshield inspection stickers with a digital QR code system.

Because the program rules are up in the air, we have decided to hold off on reapplying for an MVI license at our new location until a final legislative decision is made. This prevents us from investing in an inspection system that might be phased out or completely restructured by the state in the coming months.

We greatly appreciate your patience and ongoing support during this transition phase! We will keep you updated right here the moment anything changes. 📲✨

📦 Drop-off Point: Look for the recycling cans on the northeast corner of the building.

Sherman's Glass Inc. is moving and celebrating!

We are officially relocating to the American Legion Hall at 500 E Pine St. This big move perfectly coincides with our 49th birthday! For nearly five decades, we’ve been proud to serve this community.

Come visit us at our new home and help us kick off our 50th year in style! We’ll be hosting a ribbon cutting with the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce later in May, followed by an open house that same afternoon. Watch for the official date and time announcement on the Ponchatoula Chamber’s page!
