Bring your kayak and paddle the winding Salt Fork River! It’s the ultimate way to cool off on a hot Oklahoma day. The calm waters and scenic surroundings make for a perfect summer adventure, right here at Rivershire. 🛶

We also want to share a few quick tips about the Salt Fork River, which runs along the northern edge of Rivershire. The riverbed is privately owned, but the water is public, so it’s important to know where you are.

When fishing from the banks or swimming, please stay within Rivershire’s property lines. (Under the bridge is public property.) If you're kayaking or canoeing, you’re free to travel up or downstream—just stay in your vessel and only pull up to Rivershire’s banks.

Fishing from a kayak is allowed anywhere on the river, as long as you’re using a rod and reel. Please don’t set trotlines or similar equipment, as that’s considered trespassing on private property.

New road, who dis?

After an unusually rainy 6 months (our average annual rainfall is 34”, and we’ve already HAD 34” and it’s only July) our poor road down to the park had gotten pretty washed out. But after some hard work and new gravel from a local construction crew, the road down the hill is looking great and is super smooth again!

Hope to see you sometime soon at Rivershire in Ponca City, Oklahoma!
