Such an honor I am humbled by to be voted by the Board of Directors to be inducted into Darryl Starbird’s National Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame in the Metal Craftsman category. There will be three of us now and I will join my dear friends Ron Covell and Luc De Ley in the Metal Craftsman category.

July is a big month for the Walden’s. My daughter Lucy turned 16. My love Kathy had her birthday. Also in July my mom and dad celebrate their anniversary. They were married in 1957 in Eunice, New Mexico now it’s been 69 years being Married! They have seen it all they grew up in the 50s had their kids in the 60s, me and my sister Penny. Went through the 70s 80s 90s 2000s and here they are in 2026. They’re both 87 and they’re both doing great. They are the best parents I could ever imagine having. Happy anniversary, Mom & Dad!

Was asked to speak at the induction of Speed Demon at the Museum of American Speed and explained how the name Speed Demon came to be. We knew we wanted a new name. So it was named after my high school mascot The Demons back in Dumas, Texas. The Dumas Demons. Speed Demon will live on forever. Thank you for the opportunity!
