Macaronis was always one of those waves and places I only saw in surf films and magazines. The kind of place you tell yourself “maybe one day.” Well, this trip became that day and somehow it exceeded every expectation I could’ve imagined.

I scored the best waves of my life alongside lifelong friends, randomly shared the experience with some local New Jersey legends and met incredible people from all over the world. From California to Australia and everywhere in between.

There’s something special about being in the middle of the Indian Ocean with a bunch of people from different backgrounds, different accents but all connected by nothing more than the love of the ocean, adventure and the goal of scoring the best wave of their life.

A huge thank you to the entire Macaronis Resort staff for making this experience world-class from start to finish. The hospitality, the food, the guides, the energy, and the way the whole operation runs was absolutely incredible. You made us feel at home in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Trips like this remind you how fast life moves and how important it is to stop waiting for the “perfect time.”

Life is short…Book the trip!

Cheers Mates. 🇮🇩🌎🍺🤙🏼😎

After 20+ years… May 1st marked my first official day of retirement from the United States Coast Guard.

I shipped out to boot camp on January 24, 2006 as a 21-year-old kid. Today, I close that chapter at 42-years old, with an incredible wife and four amazing kids.

The Coast Guard took me places I never could’ve imagined—from Nova Scotia to Grenada… from California to right here along the Jersey Shore serving as a Boatswain’s Mate, specializing in Search & Rescue missions as a heavy weather coxswain.

By no means was it all fair winds & following seas. There were missed birthdays, holidays on duty, and sacrifices made regularly. But joining the Coast Guard and deciding to make it a career was one of the best decisions I could have made. I’m incredibly proud and grateful to have served alongside such an outstanding group of men and women. I know this service will continue to do great things.

To my shipmates: The friendships, the laughs, the long days and nights…those memories will stay with me forever.

To my friends: I don’t take a single one of you for granted. Life is better because of you!!!

To my family: Mom and Dad, thank you for your unconditional love, guidance and patience through every wild idea and questionable decision. Sean and Kelsey, I wouldn’t trade the two of you for anyone.

And finally to my wife Katelyn and our children Emelia, Tyler, James, and Dylan. There’s no way to fully express my gratitude. You carried the weight of my service more than anyone. I know it wasn’t easy. I promise to spend the rest of my life making it up to you and trying to provide the best life possible. You are my “WHY”!

What’s next: I’m excited to step into my new role as program coordinator with 7 Eagle Group - a veteran success organization dedicated to helping veterans find meaningful careers after the uniform. I’ll also continue doing what I love most - driving boats, with captain roles at MAST High School and this summer.

To everyone who has been part of my journey, thank you. I’m excited about the future and truly believe the best is yet to come!

God Bless America 🇺🇸
