From Cape Cod to Hawaii.

Every boat we build has a destination, but some journeys are a little more special than others.

This Heritage 15 began its life in our shop on Cape Cod, where it was built, wrapped, and crated for its trip across the USA and the Pacific to its new home in Honolulu, HI.

What made this delivery especially memorable was discovering that the new owner and I had worked together more than 20 years ago when I was living and working as an engineer in Hawaii. During one of our first conversations about the Heritage, we realized we already knew each other. It really is a small world.

Seeing this boat now resting on its dock in Hawaii, ready for years of exploring the sheltered waters and nearby coastline, is incredibly rewarding. It's a reminder that the boats we build often reconnect us with people and places we never expected.

Thank you for trusting us with your new Heritage 15. Wishing you countless great mornings on the water and many unforgettable adventures ahead.

Built on Cape Cod. At home in Hawaii.

There's nothing better than hearing from customers after they've had a chance to put their boat through its paces.

This Legacy Skiff proved itself in conditions that would have many small boats heading back to the dock, and here's what the owner had to say:
"You make an amazing boat.

Had it in 2 to 4 foot waves and very balanced, cut through like butter.

Waves from the side go under and the boat floats right over.

Thank you.

Tons of fun 🤩"

That's exactly what we design our boats to do: inspire confidence, handle rough water with composure, and make every outing enjoyable.

Whether you're exploring quiet coves or crossing open water, it's rewarding to know our boats are delivering on that promise.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the fantastic photos. We hope there are many more adventures ahead!

Another beautiful boat heading out the door!

It’s been a busy stretch here at Little River Marine as we’ve been loading trailers, wrapping boats, and getting customers on the water.

One of our recent deliveries is this striking Sea Shell Double in red and white. There’s something about a classic color combination on a sleek rowing shell that never gets old. Seeing it sitting on the trailer, ready for its next adventure, is one of those moments that reminds us why we love building boats.

Every delivery represents a customer’s excitement, countless hours in the shop, and another Little River Marine boat beginning its story somewhere new.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their next boat. We can’t wait to see photos from your home waters.

If you’ve recently taken delivery of one of our boats, we’d love to see where you’re rowing. Tag us in your photos and share your adventures!

There’s been plenty happening in the Little River Marine shop lately! Every boat that leaves our shop is built by hand, and it’s the details that make all the difference.

These photos show one of our optional solid teak trim packages being carefully fitted and shaped on a Heritage 15. Each rail is individually fitted, sanded, and blended to the hull before receiving its finish. It’s an upgrade that adds timeless beauty, warmth, and craftsmanship to an already capable skiff.

From the first layer of fiberglass to the final piece of teak, we’re proud to build boats that are meant to be enjoyed for decades.

Stay tuned… there are more beautiful boats making their way through the shop.

People often ask what boat I row when I have time on the water.

This is it.

My Heritage 15 has become my favorite platform for training, photography, and exploring the waters around Cape Cod. The Vespoli shoes make long rows comfortable, the mirror lets me keep an eye on what’s behind me, and the GoPro helps capture the places rowing takes me.

There are faster boats. There are lighter boats. (This is a Heritage 15 Classic - I.e. fiberglass laminate)

But when I want to spend a few hours on the water, enjoy the scenery, and come back with a smile, this is the one I reach for.

The question of how many clamps is needed for a boat building (or wood working) project often comes up. The usual answer is 1 more than I have available.

Fortunately I have enough to install teak trim on a Heritage 15. The “in-process” photos only give a hint of what the finished product will look like.

Finished photos soon.

Some mornings reset the whole system.

A calm harbor, a Heritage 15, and a few uninterrupted miles before the world wakes up.

A near-perfect day on the water for today’s Rowing Rendezvous. Strong offshore breeze, sparkling water, great conversations, and plenty of demo rowing with a fantastic group of people.

Nothing beats seeing classic rowing craft lined up along the beach, ready to launch into open water. Thanks to everyone who came out and shared the day with us. 🚣🌊

Repost and Reminder!

We’ll be at Rowing Rendezvous at Kalmus Beach in Hyannis this Saturday, May 16 (10 AM–2 PM) — and we’re bringing a Little River boat with us.

If you’ve ever been curious about rowing, this is your shot. Short rows, hands-on help, and a chance to feel what a lightweight composite boat can really do.

You will get your feet wet… and probably hooked.

Come find us on the beach.
