Ever wonder why your vehicle has a button to turn OFF traction control? 🚗

Traction control helps prevent your wheels from spinning on slippery roads. So why would you ever turn it off?

If you're stuck in deep snow or mud, traction control can sometimes make it harder to get moving. Temporarily turning it off may allow enough wheel spin to help you get unstuck!

For everyday driving, especially during Wisconsin winters, it's best to leave it ON.

Keep in mind, every vehicle is different, so check your owner's manual before disabling it!

All-season, all-weather, and winter tires… what’s actually the difference? 🛞

☀️ All-season tires
Made for a variety of everyday driving conditions, including dry roads, rain, and some light snow. They’re a great year-round option, but they aren’t specifically designed for harsher winter conditions.

🌦️ All-weather tires
A step up in winter capability while still being designed for year-round use. Many are Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rated, meaning they meet specific snow-traction performance requirements.

❄️ Winter tires
Made specifically for cold temperatures, snow, and ice. The rubber is designed to stay flexible as temperatures drop, and the tread is built for increased winter traction.

So, which one should you choose?

It depends on your vehicle, how and where you drive, and how much winter driving you typically do.

One important thing to remember: “all-season” doesn’t necessarily mean ideal for every season, especially when Wisconsin winter shows up! ❄️

These photos show the difference between a normal camshaft surface and one with excessive wear.

A camshaft helps control the opening and closing of your engine's valves. Its moving surfaces rely on proper lubrication to prevent excessive friction and damage.

The scratches and grooves you see on the right are called scoring. This type of damage can result from poor lubrication, contaminated oil, or other internal engine issues.

Damage like this is one of the reasons regular oil changes and maintaining proper oil levels are so important!

This week we’re giving a shoutout to The Plymouth Landscape Company!

Founded by Michael in 2017, The Plymouth Landscape Company provides landscaping services throughout Plymouth and the surrounding area. Their team handles landscape design and installation, lawn care, maintenance, tree removal, and more.

We’re proud to help keep their team on the road by servicing and maintaining their fleet vehicles, but this relationship goes both ways!

Back in March when Snowstorm Elsa dumped more snow on us than our own plow trucks could handle, we gave it our best shot... and eventually had to call in some reinforcements. 😂❄️ The Plymouth Landscape Company came through and helped us get our parking lot dug out after the storm.

That’s one of the things we appreciate about working with other small businesses in our community. We help keep their fleet moving, and when we needed some extra horsepower, they were there to help us too.

Thank you to Michael and the crew at The Plymouth Landscape Company for trusting us with your fleet and for coming to our rescue when Elsa got the best of our plows! ❤️

Your engine is supposed to run smooth… so why does it suddenly feel like it’s shaking, stumbling, or just not running right? 👀

It could be a misfire.

A misfire happens when one or more cylinders isn’t doing its job properly. You might notice:
• Rough or shaky idle
• Hesitation when accelerating
• Loss of power
• Check engine light on or flashing

And here’s the important part: a misfire doesn’t automatically mean “it needs spark plugs.”

Spark, fuel, air, compression, and other issues can all play a part. Finding the actual cause is what matters before replacing parts.
If your vehicle just doesn’t feel like it’s running right, give us a call!

Ever wonder what that little button with the car and the looping arrow actually does? 🚗↩️

That’s your recirculation button!

When it’s ON, your HVAC system recirculates the air already inside your vehicle instead of continuously pulling in air from outside.

Why would you use it?
• Helps your A/C cool the cabin faster on hot days
• Keeps already-cooled air circulating
• Can help keep outside odors, smoke, or exhaust from coming into the cabin

But you don’t want it on ALL the time.

During colder weather, using fresh outside air can help reduce moisture inside the vehicle and keep your windows from fogging up. Many vehicles will even automatically turn recirculation off when you select the defrost setting.

So that little button actually has a purpose! 😄

Your vehicle doesn’t have to be broken to come see us. 🔧

Preventative maintenance is about taking care of the little things BEFORE they have a chance to turn into bigger problems.

Oil changes, fluid services, brakes, tires, filters, belts, and other routine maintenance all play a part in keeping your vehicle dependable.

And not everything gives you a warning light when it’s due.

Not sure what your vehicle actually needs? We can take a look at its mileage, condition, and maintenance history to help you prioritize what’s due now and what can wait.

A little maintenance along the way can go a long way. 🚗
