☀️ Hot Weather Reminder ☀️

With the heat sticking around, it's a good time to slow down and check in on those around you.

❤️ Check on elderly family members and neighbors, especially those who may not have air conditioning.

🐾 Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh, cool water and a shaded place to rest. If it's too hot for your bare feet on the pavement, it's too hot for their paws.

🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a minute. Temperatures inside a vehicle can become dangerous very quickly.

💧 Stay hydrated and encourage others to do the same.

🌳 If you're working or exercising outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade and know the signs of heat exhaustion.

🐄 Don't forget about outdoor animals and livestock. Make sure they have access to clean water and relief from the sun.

🚙 If you're traveling, remember that your vehicle's A/C has to work much harder in extreme heat. Using the recirculate setting can often help keep the cabin cooler and reduce the load on your air conditioning system. If your A/C isn't keeping up, it's a good idea to have it checked before a long trip.

🧰 Keep a bottle of water, a phone charger, and a basic emergency kit in your vehicle, especially during summer travel.

🔧 Latest Project at Grunow Performance & Repair! 🏁

What has the team been up to lately?

Andrea picked up a project car to help keep everyone busy during any downtime between customer appointments. Around the holidays (and during last week's extreme heat 🥵), the shop naturally slows down a bit, so instead of sitting around, we're using that time to sharpen our skills, expand our knowledge, and take on something a little different.

So... what did she buy? 👀

A 2015 Subaru BRZ that we're converting into a drift car!

When Andrea purchased it, she knew from the listing photos that it had a few modifications, but the pictures hid a lot of the goodies. She was really going in blind, unsure of everything that had been done to the car. To our surprise, we discovered it was equipped with an HKS GTIII-RS turbo kit—a significant investment by the previous owner and definitely not something we expected to find! Unfortunately, the excitement came with a downside: the engine has a slight knock. That's the risk we sometimes take when purchasing project cars, but it's all part of the adventure.

One of the best parts of growing our business has been discovering talents within our team that even they didn't know they had. Projects like this give everyone an opportunity to step outside the day-to-day repair work, learn something new, and continue developing their skills. We love giving our team the chance to grow while keeping their hands busy during slower periods.

We hope everyone was able to stay cool during last week's heat wave! While many of you were staying inside (and we don't blame you!), we were turning wrenches and beginning the next chapter of this BRZ.

Our shop is closed today, and we'll be back to our normal business hours after the holiday weekend.
