Another build out the door at Clare Repair! 🚛

We just finished putting together a silage truck for a local farmer.

We started with a used box, then:
🔧 Mounted and hooked up the hoist
🔧 Installed a new hydraulic pump
🔧 Installed a new PTO
🔧 Ran new hydraulic lines and tank
🔧 Installed and fabricated a new rear hinge

Bryce has put a lot of elbow grease into this project, with a little critical thinking (and probably a few “how are we gonna make THAT work?” conversations) from the rest of the crew along the way.

A little fabrication, a little hydraulics, a little teamwork, and a whole lot of figuring it out… and you've got a truck ready to put in some work! 🌽🚛

Harvest Season is here and so are we! 🌾

The hardest working member of our personal fleet - our steed of a service truck is loaded up and ready for service calls! She's already made a few this week but she's ready for more.

We know this is one of the busiest and most important times of the year for our farmers. When the equipment needs to keep moving, we’re here to help keep it moving. We've been a little quiet on here lately... but that definitely doesn't mean we've been sitting around! 😅🔧

The shop has been BUSY! Here's a little of what we've been up to lately:

🚌 Put a new fuel tank on a bus.

🚛 Had a couple Volvos roll in needing new front leaf spring bushings. That meant it was time to put our special Tiger Tool adapters to work! 💪

📋 We've also knocked out several DOT inspections.

One truck came in for what was supposed to be a DOT inspection, but like we always say—you never know what you're going to find! 👀 We discovered a leaking front main seal along with some differential lock issues. We pulled the differential and replaced the differential lock fork to get everything taken care of.

Just another reminder that sometimes a quick inspection turns into a little more than expected! 😬

We have 2 silage truck builds in the process also right now! - more posts on that to come.

The Pierce County Fair has been happening here in the area this week 🎡🌭

We’ve also been working with steers here at Clare Repair. 😂 I just got done changing the steer tires on this Sterling dump truck, along with all 8 other tires.

Definitely a different kind of steer than you’ll find at the fair… but I’ll tell you what, these ones can be just as stubborn! 😂🔧

Bryce has been putting in some work!

Last week he tackled a head gasket job on a Case 621B loader for a local farmer. 🚜

Keeping equipment up and running is important, especially when you depend on it to get the job done daily. Bryce got this loader tore down, the head gasket replaced, and everything back together and ready to get back to work!

We love watching Bryce continue to learn, take on bigger jobs, and build his skills along the way. Another one in the books! 💪

Eric has had the pleasure of working on this International 9400 this week that is literally as old as we are! 👨‍🔧(We won't mention the year 🤪)

The customer brought it in because it had an intermittent miss. After about 10 minutes of troubleshooting, Eric tracked down the culprit. The truck had previously had an injector replaced, but the pass-through wasn't replaced at the same time. In our opinion, the pass-through should always be replaced when installing a new injector. He also found pins pulling out of the injector harness, so this truck got new pass-throughs and a new injector harness.

The customer also mentioned the speedometer wasn't working. After some digging, Eric found that a few pins inside a connector were making contact when they shouldn't have been. Bryce and I had front-row seats as we watched Eric lay on the air horn and throw a few celebratory hand motions when the speedometer finally came back to life. 😂 Those are the moments that make the job fun!

While inspecting everything else, Eric also noticed excessive play in the turbo shaft. He's in the process of installing a new turbo, and before long this International will be back on the road hauling corn.

Sometimes it's the little details that make all the difference 🚛🔧

There are a lot of things we cannot control in this world, but one thing we can do is invest in the next generation!

Today's milestone: the first repair in the new shop. 🤘

I get the honor of doing the first job, which also means I get to experience something every mechanic dreams about... laying on a perfectly clean concrete floor. 😉

Eric had to join me just to share in the excitement! Here's to many more years of hard work on this floor!

We're also definitely in the market for a floor scrubber! Any reccomendations?
