Here's what people don't realize about our Free A/C Check: it's actually free. 🧊

No "diagnostic fee." No "we just need to charge you for the inspection." Just an honest review where one of our techs runs your A/C system through a real performance check.

What that actually means:

βœ… Inspect the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and the hoses and connections that tie everything together, looking for wear, damage, or leaks

βœ… Check your refrigerant level (low refrigerant almost always means there's a leak hiding somewhere)

βœ… Hook up gauges and read the high-side and low-side pressure to spot blockages or a struggling compressor

βœ… Measure the actual temperature coming out of your vents to see if the system is cooling like it should

βœ… Listen for the noises that tell us trouble is brewing, like squealing, grinding, hissing, or bubbling

If everything checks out, we'll tell you and you'll be on your way. If something's off, we'll show you exactly what we found, walk you through what it means, and let YOU decide what to do next. No pressure, no scare tactics, no upsell. That's it.

The reason we're pushing this now: the Kentucky heat is about to ramp up. The folks waiting for their A/C to actually quit on a 95Β° day are the ones paying for parts AND a tow. The folks who come in now usually catch it while it's still cheap to fix.

We've got open slots this week. Swing by, and let us take a quick look.

This is the part of the job that never gets old. πŸ™Œ

Every week we get to send folks back out on the road with their car running better than it has in years, and a look that tells us they'll trust us with the next thing too. That trust is what keeps a small, family-owned shop alive for 30+ years right here in Pleasureville, and it's not something we take lightly.

If Joe's has taken care of your vehicle this spring, thank you. Truly.

And if you've been meaning to get your A/C looked at before the real heat sets in, now is the time. Our Free A/C Check is still going on. No appointment, no upsell, no pressure. Just an honest look at whether your system is ready for July and August. If it's good, we'll tell you. If it needs attention, we'll show you exactly what and why.

Drop a comment and tell us: what's the longest summer road trip you've ever taken through Kentucky? We want to hear the stories.

Heck of a season, boys. πŸ…

Our Joe's Garage & Tire Tigers fought all the way to the final out in the championship last night. 7 innings, a 4-hour battle, and the Swamp Donkeys edged us by just one run. Tough way to end it, but we couldn't be prouder of this group.

Hats off to the Swamp Donkeys on a great comeback win. πŸ‘ And to our Tigers hold your heads high. Proud to have our name on those jerseys. See you next season. ⚾🧑

Three things your A/C tries to tell you before it quits:

1. The air's cool but never quite cold
2. There's a musty smell when you first crank it
3. Or the airflow's gone weak

Most folks ignore all three until July, and that's when a cheap fix turns into an expensive one. Bring it by and we'll tell you exactly where you stand, free, no pressure to do a thing. ❄️

The check engine light comes on and most people do one of two things.

They panic. Or they put a piece of tape over it and hope for the best.

Neither one is the right answer.

Here is the truth about your check engine light. It is not always a catastrophe. But it is never something you should ignore for long either. That little light is your car's way of telling you something in the engine management system needs attention.

Here are some of the most common reasons it comes on:
β€’ Oxygen sensor. One of the most common culprits. A failing O2 sensor can hurt your fuel economy and cause long term engine damage if ignored.

β€’ Loose or faulty gas cap. Seriously. A loose gas cap triggers the check engine light. Tighten it and see if it clears.

β€’ Catalytic converter. If this one is failing you will notice reduced performance and poor fuel economy alongside the light.

β€’ Mass airflow sensor. Controls how much fuel your engine gets. When it fails your car runs rough and burns more gas.

β€’ Spark plugs or ignition coils. Worn plugs cause misfires, rough idle, and reduced power.

The only way to know for sure what your check engine light is telling you is to have it properly diagnosed. We use professional diagnostic equipment to read the exact code and tell you what is actually going on.

Do not guess. Do not ignore it. Come see us.

This one came in yesterday and we are still talking about it.

Laura's son just started a new job an hour from home. On his way back his car overheated and would not start. She called Joe's Garage and our team handled the tow, stayed after hours waiting for the car to arrive, and then sent her a video showing exactly what was going on with the vehicle.

That last part. The video. That is just how we do things here. We believe you deserve to know exactly what is happening with your car, not just take our word for it.

Laura works in the auto industry herself and had this to say:

"The best service I have ever received. ALL staff was courteous, friendly and helpful."

That means everything to us. Truly.

If your car ever leaves you stranded, call us. We are not going to leave you hanging.

June is here and summer road trips, lake runs, and weekend getaways are right around the corner for Henry County.

Before you load up the car and hit the road, let us talk about something most people do not think about until it is too late.

Your brakes.

Brakes do not fail all at once. They wear down gradually and give you warning signs along the way. The problem is most people ignore those signs until something goes wrong.

Here is what to listen and watch for:
1. Squealing or squeaking when you press the brake pedal. That is usually the wear indicator telling you the pads are getting low.

2. Grinding noise when braking. Metal on metal. Do not wait on this one.

3. The car pulling to one side when you brake. Could be a stuck caliper or uneven pad wear.

4. A soft or spongy brake pedal. This one needs attention right away.
Vibration or shaking when you stop. Often a sign of warped rotors.

If any of these sound familiar, give us a call. A brake inspection does not take long and catching the problem early is always cheaper than waiting.

Summer is right around the corner and your car knows it.

The heat that Kentucky summers bring puts real stress on certain parts of your vehicle. Here are the things we see come through our doors most often this time of year and what to watch for:

β†’ Air Filter. A clogged air filter makes your engine work harder and hurts your fuel economy. If you cannot remember the last time yours was changed, it is probably time.

β†’ Coolant. Old coolant loses its ability to regulate engine temperature. In a Kentucky summer that is not something you want to find out the hard way.

β†’ Battery. Heat is actually harder on batteries than cold weather. If yours is more than 3 years old have it tested before it leaves you stranded in a parking lot in July.

β†’ Belts and Hoses. Heat causes rubber to crack and soften over time. A snapped belt or a blown hose can sideline your vehicle fast.

β†’ Cabin Air Filter. Not a safety issue but your AC will thank you. A dirty cabin filter makes your system work harder to keep you cool.

The good news is all of this can be checked during our free multi-point inspection. We will tell you exactly what needs attention and what can wait.
