Congratulations Christine VFD on making a huge step in upgrading your 5 Ton Brush Fire Truck!! Ladies and gentleman this front bumper / skid plate and interior combo has become our standard production format… After years of careful R&D we have found this set up works the best… The bumper incorporates an outward swinging door that will let 1 operator open the hood… The stops will not let the door swing inward even with a heavy impact… We upgraded the skid plate to 3/8 plate to withstand with stand heavy impact or “belly over” on an obstacle… The interior was completely removed, new floor plates replaced the rotted floor, and the batteries were relocated into the passenger side tool box… The floor received a 1/2” heavy rubber mat that helps with sound deadening and the interior was configured as a “2 up “ with center console… Seats were upgraded to MRAP seats, 3 point seat belts installed on new support pillars… Inside the console a battery equalizer, master 12/24 battery switch and all new wiring installed… We‘re proud to say this truck is far safer and more capable now with these upgrades!
