Would you please take 30 seconds today to let Congress know how important it is that the independent auto repair industry be able to continue to service and repair vehicles? We need access to critical information needed to repair and maintain modern vehicles, and we need to ensure the continued ability for vehicle owners and repair shops to use the parts that they choose. We need as many people as possible to tell Congress!

Great news article about today's automotive repair costs...

According to the latest federal consumer price data, the cost of car repairs was up by 19.7% percent annually. Shop owners say the jump that consumers have seen on their bills is just to try and keep up with the increases they’ve experienced.

If you have an appointment scheduled for today or tomorrow (Wed 4th), please call before you come in. We currently have no place to park. We're also seriously behind on receiving parts orders due to the last 2 storms, so we have our hoists and bays filled with vehicles waiting for parts.
We are thankful for you and ask that you bear with us as we all struggle with the repercussions of these storms and the holiday delays!

Ready for a road trip? Make your appointments now for a multi-point inspection prior to travel.

FYI: Due to 2 other shops in town reducing their services, we are now booked out a week in advance for oil changes and inspections and 2 weeks out for more major repairs. Please plan accordingly!

Why don't you in those 3 days, make an appointment for a $30 (plus tax) Multi-Point inspection at Ry's Automotive, to make sure you are getting your moneys worth!

*Tip from SD Division of Consumer Protection: When you purchase a vehicle, be sure and ask the dealer if they have a set time period in which you may cancel the transaction. When this agreement is made, put it in writing, and have it signed by both the buyer and seller. By doing this you eliminate questions about returning the vehicle, and protect your rights as a consumer.

Drive gravel roads? Have you noticed your vehicle interior gathering dust and dirt? We can do something about that!

Most vehicles 70's and newer have 'exhauster' vents- a simple plastic housing with flaps that blow open when the cabin pressure is greater than outside. Exhausters relieve the pressure that builds when you close your doors, increase circulation for better window defrosting, and help move fresh air from the front to the rear of the vehicle.

Many of these exhausters are located behind the rear tire- a prime area to gather dust and dirt!

Check out our photos of 2 exhausters pulled out of a minivan vs a new exhauster. The fix on this particular vehicle cost less than $50.
