With the intense California sun, air conditioning can be a huge addition to your commercial van to keep you and your products from overheating.

We recently installed a 12v rooftop air conditioner on a Ford Transit van, which runs on two 6 volt batteries. The installation was done so the batteries runs in series with each other, making the equivalent of a 224 amp hour battery bank for the air conditioner to run off of, without killing the starter battery. The Thermozite insulation is installed throughout the cargo interior, and after using a laser infrared thermometer to check the inside to outside temperature, there is a difference of 56-65 degrees, before even starting the air conditioner!

We’re convinced – cedar panels look great in a van. We recently had the pleasure to insulate and finish the interior of a van with interior cedar wall panels. Originally, our client was interested in the Legend Fleet panels but after talking to her more about what is she looking for, the wall insulation with custom-build cedar panels turned out to be the best fit for her Nissan NV200 van.

Old Ford Rangers are some of the coolest pickup trucks money can buy. They’re cheap, dead simple, handsome, and compact. But while that last trait might make you think the Ranger isn’t suited for life as a camper, at least one company tried it anyway in the 1980s, and the result is just awesome.
