From sinking into the West Virginia mud to moving under its own power! šŸ”„

After bringing this 1967 Mustang Fastback back to life, it was time for the ultimate test—its first drive in who knows how many years.

It’s definitely not roadworthy yet, but the Mustang successfully drove out of the garage, crossed the street and climbed into the yard. That’s a huge victory for a car we weren’t even sure would survive the recovery!

Would you restore it or preserve the wild patina?

It’s alive! After all these years, the Mustang runs again! šŸ”„

This 1967 Mustang Fastback had been sitting forgotten on a property in West Virginia for who knows how long. After recovering it, cleaning it out, tearing into the engine and checking its compression, the moment finally arrived.

For the first time since it was parked, the engine came roaring back to life!

One final question remains: can we actually drive it?

This engine might be something special! šŸ‘€

Joe performed a compression test to find out whether the engine inside this 1967 Mustang Fastback was healthy enough to continue. After sitting for all those years, we weren’t sure what the numbers would reveal—but the results gave us a reason to be excited.

Now it’s time to start preparing it for the real test!

Is this old engine still worth saving? šŸ”§

With the interior cleaned out, we turned our attention to the engine. We began removing parts, checking its overall condition and looking for any major problems after decades of sitting.

Everything we find now will lead into the first major test: does this engine still have compression?

08/15/2026

What was left inside this forgotten Fastback? šŸ‘€

Before attempting to start the engine, we began cleaning out the interior of the 1967 Mustang. After sitting outside for all those years, it was finally time to dig through everything and see which original parts and pieces were still inside.

You never know what you’ll uncover in an old project car like this!

Where do you even start with a Mustang like this? 😳

The blue-and-red 1967 Mustang Fastback is finally inside Iron City Garage. Pete brings it down into the shop so we can give it a complete first look, assess what we’re working with and figure out the best place to begin.

It’s rough—but is there still any life left in it?

08/15/2026

We honestly thought this Mustang might rip in half! 😬

With the first 1967 Fastback safely loaded, it was time to rescue the second one. This car was buried deep in the mud along the edge of a riverbank, and its weakened body made every movement risky.

After plenty of careful maneuvering, we finally got it onto the trailer. Both Fastbacks were officially headed home to Iron City Garage—but could either one still run?

Part 4 begins the ā€œWill It Run?ā€ attempt!

08/15/2026

There was only one way to get this Fastback out—backwards! 😳

We headed farther into the West Virginia property and decided the red 1967 Mustang Fastback would be the first one loaded. Because of how it had been sitting for all those years, there was no room to turn it around. We had to carefully pull it straight out and load it backward onto the trailer.

Now we still have another Fastback to recover…

Two 1967 Mustang Fastbacks—but which one are we pulling out first? šŸ‘€

We just arrived in West Virginia and before touching anything, we needed to inspect both cars and develop a plan of attack. Neither Mustang was going to make this recovery easy.

Which Fastback would you load first?

šŸ”„ After nearly 40 years… this 1949 Oldsmobile finally roars back to life!

After all the hard work, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. Joe gets the Big Six running for the first time in decades, and after a few final adjustments and some tuning, it’s time to find out if it can do more than just idle.

Pete climbs behind the wheel, eases it out of the garage, and takes the 1949 Oldsmobile Torpedo Back on its first test drive in nearly 40 years. There’s nothing quite like hearing an old survivor come back to life and move under its own power again.
