There comes a point in every new rider’s journey where the parking lot starts to feel safe… maybe even comfortable. And while parking lot practice is incredibly important for building and continuing to practice foundational skills, balance, clutch control, braking, slow-speed turns, and confidence with the motorcycle itself — eventually, the next step has to happen.

You have to ride the road.

And I say this with years of experience both riding and teaching: no amount of circles in a parking lot will fully prepare you for traffic, intersections, real-world decision making, or the emotional side of riding around other vehicles. The only way to truly learn road riding… is by riding on the road.

That doesn’t mean you rush it.
It means you prepare for it.

Build your skills in the parking lot until your controls feel natural. Practice starting, stopping, shifting, turning, and emergency braking until you don’t have to overthink every movement. Learn to trust your eyes, your balance, and your instincts.

Then take the next step.

Start small:
🏍 Ride during low-traffic times
🏍 Take short rides close to home
🏍 Choose familiar roads
🏍 Focus on one skill at a time
🏍 Give yourself grace while learning

Confidence is not something that magically appears before you ride on the road. Confidence is built BECAUSE you rode on the road… even while nervous.

Every experienced rider you admire once had shaky hands leaving the parking lot for the first time too.

Be brave enough to be a beginner.
Trust the skills you’ve worked hard to build.
And remember — growth in motorcycling lives just outside your comfort zone.

You’ve got this, ladies. 💪🏍️

Fear Less Fridays

One of the most common fears I hear from new women riders is:
“Traffic terrifies me.”

And honestly? That’s normal.

Traffic feels overwhelming because there’s so much happening at once — cars changing lanes, lights, distractions, noise, pressure. But confidence in traffic doesn’t come from being fearless… it comes from building skills and experience one ride at a time.

Here’s what I tell my riders:
✔️ Start small
✔️ Ride during low-traffic times first
✔️ Practice proper lane positioning
✔️ Keep your eyes up and look far enough ahead (12 seconds is the standard rule)
✔️ Leave yourself space and time to react - Watch your mirrors and know what is on either side
of you.

Most importantly:
You do NOT have to ride like everyone else. Ride YOUR ride.

Even experienced riders were nervous in traffic once. Confidence is built mile by mile.

Fear less!! Ride more!!

Confidence on a motorcycle doesn’t start when the bike moves — it starts in your mind. 💕 Every rider has moments of nerves, self-doubt, and uncertainty, but the strongest riders learn to stay present, trust their training, and focus on progress instead of perfection. Remember: every ride is another step toward becoming safer, stronger, and more confident. Keep Riding!!

Ride brave. Ride smart. Ride together. 🏍️

Okay ladies… let’s talk about the REAL beginner rider moments 😂🏍️

What was the FIRST thing that made you nervous when learning to ride?

⬜ Turning from a stop
⬜ Hills
⬜ Parking lots with people watching 😅
⬜ Stalling in traffic
⬜ Tight turns
⬜ “What if I drop the bike?”

New riders need to hear this today:
You are NOT the only one who felt scared, awkward, intimidated, or overwhelmed in the beginning. Every confident rider you see now was once terrified too.

Drop your answer below 👇
And experienced riders — tell the newer ladies ONE thing that helped your confidence grow.

Let’s encourage somebody today 💜

This is for all
Those who have dropped the bike or some other mishap that’s scared you or made you low confidence. This is a reminder to stay strong and not give up!!!

The first bike you buy will matter in how your confidence is built! Your progress can either be supported or hindered by that first bike, so it’s important to choose wisely. Your safety also really matters and again, that first bike can make all the difference. Take a listen before you head out and buy your first bike!

It might be a bit cold, windy and wet, but we still learn in the rain. It’s just a slight drizzle, but if you signed up for your MSF, they aren’t gonna cancel for rain, so better to get your rain fears out of the way early cause sometimes you get stuck in the rain even when you are on a trip.

But we are ready and raring to go and my student just arrived!!! Go Adreanna!! And then Gina is up next today!! Toughing out the rain! That’s how we become a BRAT!!
