Viborg

Irvin Mohr, 81 of Viborg, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Scotland. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Irvin was born on October 11, 1944, to John and Helen (Stubbe) Mohr in Parker, SD. He graduated from Parker High School in 1962 and went on to work on the family farm. During his retirement, he enjoyed helping and driving asphalt truck for his son Dan with ProSeal, Inc out of Mitchell, SD.

Irvin's legacy of humor, friendship, and devotion will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. To know him was to call him a friend. He had a rare gift for turning every handshake into a friendship, and he never considered anyone a stranger-only people he had not gotten to know yet. His remarkable life will forever be an inspiration powered by humor, “MacGyver” skillset, and Irvin’s willingness to give a helping hand.

While in high school, Les was in FFA. After high school, Les proudly served for six years in the Navy until 1970, where he served on the USS Nantahala as a radar endorsed electronic tech petty officer. Les then moved to California and spent years in sales at Sperry Univac. Later he got back into agriculture and started Valley Oaks Angus out in Plymouth, California. He was a Shriner, and loved to help his community, especially lending a hand at the farm. Les and Barb went on many trips including a honeymoon to Germany, trips to Cancun, Columbia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arizona, and most recently a cruise to Alaska. Les didn’t know any strangers. At some point they all became friends and would come over to tinker on a piece of equipment, play cards, hunt, or visit. Les was an active member of Faith Lutheran in Pierre.
