Model Y Tint Setup with XPEL XR PLUS — I get asked about this all the time, so here’s exactly what I did.

Specs:

- Driver / Passenger: 15% VLT
- Quarters: 15% VLT
- Rear Doors: 35% VLT
- Rear Windscreen: 35% VLT
- Sunroof: 55% VLT
- Windshield: 55% VLT

I also had the windshield done (highly recommend it). All XPEL XR PLUS with limited lifetime warranty.

Why it’s 100% worth it (especially in AZ): Phoenix summer sun is brutal — it turns your car into an oven and beats up the interior over time. This setup makes a massive difference in cabin heat rejection, UV protection, and overall comfort. The front is dark enough for privacy and glare reduction but still fully legal and safe for night driving. The lighter rear + sunroof keeps it looking clean while still blocking a ton of heat.

My black Model Y stays noticeably cooler, the AC doesn’t have to work as hard, and the interior is protected from Arizona’s intense sun. If you’re in a hot climate, don’t cheap out on tint — XPEL is premium and holds up great.
