Car Audio Show Grading: SQ vs SPL β€” it should be fair, not just loud.

At a real audio show, cars should be judged by category:

SPL = Sound Pressure Level
This is the loudness/bass score. Judges look for:

* Highest clean dB reading
* Proper meter placement
* Class rules: number of subs, amps, batteries, wall/no wall
* System safety and control
* No cheating with doors/windows unless rules allow it

SQ = Sound Quality
This is how good the music actually sounds. Judges look for:

* Clear vocals
* Balanced bass, mids, and highs
* No distortion
* Good staging/imaging β€” music sounds like it is coming from the front, not just everywhere
* Clean install and tuning

SQL = Sound Quality Loud
This is the middle ground: loud but still clean. Judges should look for:

* Strong bass, but not drowning out vocals
* Loud volume with clarity
* No rattling, clipping, or muddy sound
* System plays music, not just test tones
* Crowd impact plus sound control

NSPL / Demo Class
This should be judged on real demo performance:

* Hair tricks / flex / crowd reaction
* Musical demo ability
* Clean bass hits
* Safe demo setup
* Build quality and presentation

Install should matter too:

* Clean wiring
* Secure amps/subs
* Fuses and electrical safety
* Finished panels/enclosure
* Creativity and theme

Bottom line:
A car audio show should not be judged only by who is the loudest. SPL is loudness, SQ is clarity, SQL is loud and clean, and demo class is crowd impact. Each car should be graded in the correct class so everybody gets a fair shot. πŸ”ŠπŸ†
