2024 Honda Civic Type R 🔥

Fun fact: when these came out, this was the exact model I wanted, so having one in the shop was pretty cool.

This one came in for a gloss enhancement + protection, and I knew right away that front end needed some extra attention. Cars with this stance are absolute bug and road-debris magnets.

The grille got some intricate polishing, Scooter and I spent some extra time dialing this one in, and of course we had to add an Easter egg — a second layer of coating across the entire front clip for a little extra protection where it needs it most.

Best part? At pickup, the owner asked if we could get it on a maintenance schedule.

So lucky us — we’ll be seeing this Type R every two months for maintenance washes.

Glossy, protected, and officially part of the rotation

25 years ago, I was in 5th grade.

I remember that morning clear as day. I was eating breakfast, my parents were both home getting ready for their day, and like most mornings, the news was on.

Then everything changed.

I remember the news anchor frantically reporting what was happening live. At 11 years old, I didn’t really understand what I was seeing, but I understood my parents’ reaction. My mom and stepdad immediately sat down, visibly upset. I remember asking, “What’s happening?” “What is that building?” and trying to understand why everyone suddenly seemed so scared.

When I got to school, every teacher was affected. My 5th grade teacher, Mr. Taylor, spent much of that day explaining to us what the Twin Towers were, how many people worked inside them, how many people and buildings around them would be affected, and just how many firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other emergency personnel were involved.

I didn’t fully understand the magnitude of it then. I don’t think any of us kids could.

But none of us forgot that day.

September 11th is one of those moments in history where an entire generation can tell you exactly where they were, what they were doing, and who they were with when they heard the news.

25 years later, we remember the lives that were lost, the families whose lives changed forever, and the first responders who ran toward unimaginable danger to help complete strangers.

We remember.

We honor.

We will never forget.

This 2004 Toyota 4Runner is its owners’ baby — and after recently receiving a repaint, there was still one more step to really bring the whole vehicle back to life.

After this many years of being used and loved, there were still plenty of details left for The Detailer to handle.

Inside, we did a full steam clean and steam extraction to give everything a fresh start. The windows were also EXTREMELY water spotted — and friendly reminder: there is no magical cream that just wipes years of water spotting away. 😅 It takes the right process.

Once we got the glass corrected, we hooked them up with a window coating to help keep it protected moving forward.

Actually… this 4Runner received quite a few of what I like to call “Easter eggs.” Those little extras we throw in because we see something that needs to be done to make the final result feel 100% complete. Sometimes they’re simply gifted to the customer because we just can’t leave it unfinished. 😂

The fresh paint received a polish to knock down some of the roughness and texture that can be common after a repaint, bringing out more clarity, gloss, and smoothness.

Then we went after ALL the details:

Trim, mud flaps, step rails, roof rack, and the bug guard — which I have officially renamed the mustache 😂 — were cleaned, revived back to black, and protected.
Headlights and taillights were polished and coated too.
By the time we finished, it honestly felt like we stepped into a time machine and landed back in 2008… and I’m completely okay with that.

If you’ve invested in repainting your vehicle, don’t stop there. Call The Detailer to protect that investment and finish all the little details around it so the WHOLE vehicle feels new again.

Because sometimes getting that “brand-new car” feeling doesn’t require a brand-new car payment. 😉

We do them dirty… but we don’t do YOU dirty. 🤣

This 2023 Toyota Tacoma came in for the whole package — and when I say decon, I mean SERIOUS decon. Layers of mud, grime, and everything Oregon backroads like to throw at a truck.

Once we got it cleaned up, we found the good ol’ Oregon pinstriping… so we polished that out and brought the paint back to life.

And since we already know where this rig is headed next — BACK TO THE WOODS — we protected it accordingly.

These owners actually use their truck. They hunt, they get off the pavement, and they’re not afraid to get it dirty. So we laid down our toughest coating: IGL Kenzo, rated 10H, with some serious gloss to go with it.

Paint ✅
Trim ✅
Windows ✅
Wheels ✅
Wheel wells ✅
Door jambs ✅

Basically, if we could coat it, we coated it.

The owner also had a few rock chips along the lower section that were a little beyond what I wanted to touch up. So I called Fox, owner of Cascade Custom Wraps LLC , and he flew right over before we started coating and laid down matte black along the bottom.

And honestly? It looks like Toyota should’ve built it that way.

Huge shoutout to Fox for jumping in and knocking it out for us.
We also removed the factory bed decals to clean up the overall look.
Now she’s glossy, protected, cleaned up… and fully prepared to go get absolutely filthy again. 😂

Exactly how a Tacoma should be.
