Ron Perretta, owner of Professionals Auto Body, has filed another lawsuit against many of the nation’s major insurance companies, contending that the insurers don’t pay enough to cover the costs of making proper repairs.

For those of you that have aftermarket accessories on your vehicle such as: spray on bed liner, tires & wheels, anything that did not come from the factory or anything that is not OEM (original manufacturer equipment) is considered aftermarket....PLEASE CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICY! Today we and our customer learned that some insurance companies write in their policies that they will not replace certain aftermarket items. Our customer did not know this and found out that to have his truck properly repaired it will cost him $1,000 out of pocket!
Here's a scenario: you put tires, wheels, fresh air intake, spray on bed liner and/or an aftermarket brush guard, cap, or tonneau cover, etc. on your vehicle, you're in an accident, all of that is damaged, you could be responsible for paying those parts if that is how your policy is written. Please do your homework and check your policy. Any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Lovin' the sunshine :)) Just a reminder to everyone-you know the car/truck/suv that you're driving? Yes, the one you own or lease? I think the insurance companies are confused because YOU are the owner of that car (whether you have an auto loan or not). The insurance company does not own your car. They cannot decide for you where to have it repaired and they cannot tell you to take it somewhere (on your own time) to get an estimate (they often say that you'll need to go to another town or to one of their preferred body shops because they don't have an appraiser in your area). PLEASE don't fall for that! None of that is true and it is also not lawful.
The moral of this story is: if you need your vehicle repaired YOU choose the body shop that you want fixing your vehicle. You DO NOT have to use your insurance company's direct repair/preferred shop. You DO NOT have to take YOUR car ANYWHERE for an estimate. Your insurance company is required to send an appraiser out to you. That is THEIR job!
We are here to help you with the claim process. Please call us first if you're in an accident. You shouldn't be bullied by the company you pay every month to insure your vehicle.

Consumers need to check their insurance policies and ask if OEM parts will be paid for when you’re in a collision. Insurers are adding in clauses that don’t pay for OEM in some cases without consumers knowing. Ask this question before buying insurance!
