Bob Foltz, his son Anthony Foltz and his father, Fred Foltz, of Dutch’s Autobody, 229 S. Governor Printz Park, Essington, PA, 19029 have been Smart Park and Expresspark’s auto mechanics for close to 25 years. Dutch’s Autobody founded in 1956 by Fred Foltz, the patriarch of the Foltz Family. Bob, Fred’s son, took the helm of the business as Fred reduced his time in the garage when he retired. In Smart Park and Expresspark’s experience, Dutch’s Autobody has always been dependable. Smart Park and Expresspark relied on Dutch’s to maintain and inspect their fleet of vehicles, and found Dutch’s pricing always fair, and their word, always straight. Smart Park and Expresspark found Bob, Anthony and Fred to be hard-working, salt-of-the-earth family men. Our experience of walking into Dutch’s Autobody could be considered an oxymoron, sometimes greeted by loud, interesting noises, and smells, in a strange way, it all felt very comforting, as it became a weekly - - daily, even multiple times in a day trip - - that was a pleasure for our team members. We could always count on engaging in a lively five-minute conversation and ending with a friendly joke and laugh when picking up one of our company vehicles. We sometimes walked in unexpectedly, but we were always welcomed and treated in the same friendly manner.
Dutch’s Autobody is a piece of Americana, and similar to the television show “Cheers,” you walk in and everyone knows your name. They know your vehicle even better than you do, and respectfully speak to you about your vehicle as if they are referencing one of your family members! Experiencing the dynamics of three generations under one roof - - sometimes under the hood and body of one vehicle - - was interesting to take in, i.e., men seemingly different at first glance in age and features, yet with a keen eye, it didn’t take long to recognize they all very much the same, i.e., honest, plainspoken, at times soft-spoken, no-nonsense, all hardworking; and, yes, you left feeling reassured your vehicle was being looked after by skilled auto mechanics who truly cared.
Thank you, Dutch’s Autobody, and thank you Bobby, for your impeccable service to Smart Park and Expresspark. Your kind way has touched our hearts. We pray that your loved ones are met with God’s grace as they go on in your absence. We pray for the Foltz business legacy to continue in Dutch’s Autobody, living on through your son, Anthony’s, knowhow and under the watchful eye and tutelage of your father, Fred. Yes, Bobby, you are missed, but will never be forgotten. You and your family will continue to be in our hearts and prayers. Thank you. God bless you. Peace to all.
