Once installed, a feed line can be run from the oil filter housing to the oil cooler, and a return line from the cooler to the oil filter housing. Enjoy increased oil volume and lowered oil temp.

VAC Motorsports High-Volume Competition Oil Pump.

This pump is engineered with our famous Oil Pump Upgrade kit integrated in it’s design; this means a stronger gear drive mechanism for much lower likelihood of pump failures on the track.

We have not only improved the physical reliability of the pump itself, but also fit a custom gear with a larger sweep area to the pump mechanism, increasing volume by a welcome 22%.

This is exactly the reason I always HIGHLY recommend upgrading the oil pump sprocket and shaft on the S54,S50,S52,M50,M52,M54. The oil pump nut was loose, almost completely off as you can see it caused the chain to wear on the oil pump pick more than usual. Sure you can tack weld the nut but that only fixes one issue, which is backing off but it doesn’t fix the shearing of the splines. Thankfully VAC Motorsports | BMW Performance Parts Tony Salloum make this upgrade. The cost of this kit is small compared to the cost of an engine failure or lost. Sure there’s many people out there that claim they have not seen this issue. But here’s the thjng are you willing to take that risk? And if so are the people who say they have not seen it happen will help you when your engine fails? I was supposed to deliver this car, but thankfully the customer opted for rod bearings and my recommendation on the oil pump upgrade. This saved us both from a headache.
