Before the Mk2 became a Jaguar icon, there was the Mk1.
The Mk1 was smaller, more compact and arguably a little more distinctive, with its covered rear wheels and unmistakable Jaguar proportions. Introduced in 1955 as the Jaguar 2.4, it was the marque’s first compact saloon, combining the XK engine with independent rear suspension in a smaller package. The 3.4 followed in 1957, bringing more power and helping establish the formula that would later make the Mk2 such a success.
Today, the Mk1 has a character all of its own. Rarer than its famous successor and instantly recognisable, it’s a Jaguar that deserves plenty of attention in its own right.
Would you take the Mk1 over the Mk2?
