People of the JDM persuasion: Tokyo Calling® 6 slots for modern [2000+] cars have SOLD OUT. Slots are still available for [pre-2000] autos.

The loophole: certain 2000-2005 cars with circa 1999 designs are still eligible as ‘vintage’ cars: think Miata, S2000, etc.

Tokyo Calling® - an all-Japanese, mostly-vintage rally - is back for year 6 on Saturday, August 29th, 2026.

Gonna be every bit as killer as last year, plus just a li’l bit killer-er: start point in Sonoma, CA [minutes from downtown]; Laureano Faedi pop-up [Japanese-inspired housewares, apparel, vintage Japanese car magazines & more]; ~100 mile sprint through pine forests, vinelands, and rural farmland over some of the best twisties in Northern California; and optional lunch back at our start-point feat. Japanese home cooking from Kinoko.

That’s it for BCR 07.11.2026, people. All told, a damned güd thyme on an idyllic summer morning. Cheers to every last driver, navigator, and passenger that ventured out to the charming burgh of St. Helena for a stiff dose of drivin’ medicine over ~100 miles of Napa & Lake County asphalt - some freshly lain, some slightly ruffled.

Cheers, too, to our amigos for rolling out the red carpet w/ impeccable hosting duties at their historic property. Also! heaps of gratitude to SIDEWALK.Coffee for slinging morning caffeine, pastries, and such, and to marinvalet for checking folks in with a quickness. Immense heaps of gratitude to our homies Mandala Springs Retreat Center in Northern CA for the warm welcome and fresh vegan/GF muffins, and to Napa Yard & Beer Garden for post-rally food ’n’ bev revelry.

UPDATE. BCR July has a new endpoint in Napa; info sent to registered drivers. Plenty of spots remain for vintage [1999 & earlier] autos, BTW - visit breakfastclubrally.com to register.

The plan: 100 miles up and down 2 mountains in 2 counties - originating at a historic venue in St. Helena, CA and heading out to Cobb before completing the ‘figure 8’ in Napa. Once at our endpoint, feel free to grab lunch, get a round of mini-golf in, or just hang out and talk cars with your fellow rallyers.

UPDATE: Registration for 1999 and earlier autos is approaching sellout; sign up today if you want in on what just might be the highest dollar-to-good times ratio in all of Monterey Car Week. Spots long SOLD OUT for post-1999 vehicles.

For the 6th year in a row, BCR will once again shoot down south to become a tiny indie star in the constellation of automotive events known as Monterey Car Week.

The way we see it, you’ve got two choices when it comes to Monterey Car Week: bemoan what it has become and pine for the olden days, or show up and enjoy the hell out of the last affordable, independent events it’s got to offer. We’re not the bemoaning type, so we’ll see you on the Monterey Peninsula, y’all. Not just at BCR x MCW, but also at Tour D’Elegance, Little Car Show, Concours de Lemons, and any other event where the chatter of car geeks can still be heard above the clatter of jewelry and champagne flutes.
