Wind ripping past your face. The whoosh in your ears. The shake in your chest as something massive flies by inches away.

That's a roller coaster at Cedar Point.

That's also what it feels like to be a tow operator on the shoulder of I-75 when you blow past at 70.

The difference is we didn't pay for the ride. We don't have a safety bar. And we're just trying to do our job.

Slow down. Move over. We'll get you home.

Monday morning update: as of 6am, I-475 south and all ramps are open to traffic following the second weekend closure.

Another closure planned for this coming weekend, weather pending.

Today the trucks pause for a moment.

Memorial Day isn't about a long weekend or a sale. It's about the people who never came home. The ones whose families have one empty chair at the table, every year.

If you're on the road today, drive carefully. They gave everything so we could be here to go anywhere.

The unofficial start of summer is here.

Before the cookouts, the lake trips, and the long drives to see family, take a moment. Memorial Day exists because of the men and women who gave everything so we could spend this weekend with the people we love.

If you're heading out on I-75, the Turnpike, or anywhere in between, give yourself extra time and a little extra patience. The roads will be full.
