YUMA, AZ - On the evening of June 12, 2026, Highway Patrol State Troopers from the Yuma area assisted the Yuma Police Department in capturing an attempted homicide suspect.
The suspect had previously fled from Yuma Police Officers earlier in the day. Yuma Police Officers located the suspect in the evening and requested assistance from Troopers. Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle in which the known suspect was seen traveling. The suspect subsequently attempted to flee. Troopers deployed a Grappler, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. 🚔
Thanks to this coordinated effort, an attempted homicide suspect was safely taken into custody.

Grappler: 1, DUI: 0 🚨
MESA, AZ - In the middle of the day on June 3, 2026, dispatch received multiple 911 calls regarding a white Ford Ranger driving erratically on US-60. Witnesses reported the vehicle was swerving between lanes, driving on the shoulder, and nearly colliding with other motorists.
With assistance from Mesa Falcon Air Support, Highway Patrol State Troopers located the vehicle on eastbound US-60 near Crismon Road. The driver continued to drive erratically, struck a barrier wall, failed to stop for law enforcement, and nearly caused multiple collisions. To prevent further danger to the public, Troopers deployed a Grappler Police Bumper, safely bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop.
During contact with the driver, troopers observed numerous signs of impairment, including strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance.
The driver was arrested for Aggravated DUI, Criminal Damage, and Failure to Stop for a Law Enforcement Vehicle. The driver was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and the vehicle was impounded.
Thank you to the concerned citizens who called this incident in. Their actions, combined with the quick response of Troopers and air support, likely prevented a much more serious outcome. Impaired drivers don't just put themselves at risk—they endanger every family sharing the roadway. If you're impaired, don't get behind the wheel. A ride home costs far less than a crash, an arrest, or a life.
