After record-setting bank branch closures in 2021 with 2,928 locations shut down nationwide, the trend has continued year after year.

• 1,854 net branch closures in 2022
• 1,409 net branch closures in 2023
• Nearly 1,000 net branch closures in 2024
• 148 net branch closures in the first quarter of 2025 alone, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence
• Industry analysts expect branch closures to continue throughout 2026 as banks push customers toward digital-only banking
