It is with deep sadness that the Gary Sapp Automotive family announces that we are closed until 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021. The Gary Sapp Automotive family will be attending end-of-life services for one of our own family members, Randy Mathias.

Randy, was a prominent employee of Gary Sapp Automotive he will be always be in our hearts and a part of our family.

Randy Michael Mathias passed away peacefully on Sat., April 3, 2021 at the age of 49.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Victory Assembly of God in Cantonment, FL. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Family requests that attendees wear what they feel most comfortable in, bright colors are welcome, in honor of Randy’s wish for everyone to be comfortable around him.

Gary Sapp Automotive needs a reliable Mechanic Assistant to join our team. We operate one of the finest and most efficient repair shops in the city, and we require excellence of our devoted staff. This is an entry-level Mechanic trainee position. Mechanic Assistants perform a variety of tasks assisting Mechanics to repair, operate and refurbish vehicles. They install, repair and replace mechanical parts in automobiles and should have knowledge of automobile processes and composition. Assists with repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles and recreational vehicles; and performs maintenance and custodial services in the shop.

Duties and tasks

Assist and provide operational support to mechanics in a variety of fields.

Assist with assembling and re-assembling mechanical apparatuses

Conduct routine maintenance activities that don’t require a high level of expertise or specialization. May change a vehicle’s oil, rotate tires, flush and replace fluids, and change bulbs.

Inspect automobiles upon completion of work to ensure performance standard and check that specific functions are operating

Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety by cleaning work areas and removing hazardous materials such as oil, gasoline, or other fluids. Follow established procedures for safe disposal of motor oil, tires, and other vehicle fluids. They may also conduct periodic checks of equipment and work areas to ensure that they are free of clutter and dangerous materials like broken glass.

Learn about methods for diagnosing vehicle performance issues and eventually gain a thorough knowledge of common diagnostic tests and indicators. Additionally, may work with diagnostic tools and provide reports and data to the lead mechanic to assist with repairs.

The mechanic assistant may perform these tasks under the direct supervision of a lead or a more experienced mechanic, but they tend to act with more autonomy as they demonstrate their knowledge.

Because mechanic assistants provide support to lead mechanics, there are significant opportunities for on-the-job training in this role. Mechanic assistants who learn quickly can soon move on to more advanced tasks and work in this role while attaining service technician certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rebuild, replace, or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories.
Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles.
Disassemble and assess any supplemental needs, labor, parts, and communicate with Management, or Service Advisor
Perform quality repairs at all times and notify management of any substandard processes, parts or procedures.
Perform all repairs utilizing appropriate tools, procedures and operations.
Follow safety procedures at all times to avoid accidental injuries and damage to automobiles
Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition
Performs tune ups, brake jobs, and other preventative maintenance on cars, trucks, buses, and other powered rolling equipment; replaces common parts and makes adjustments
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
ASE certification is a plus but not required
Maintain valid driver's license

All of us at Gary Sapp Automotive would like to wish you and your family a 🎄Merry Christmas🎄. So our employees can spend time with their families and friends, we are now closed until Monday. Our phones will not be fowareded. We will return on Monday morning at 7:30.

Applicant would be responsible for safely operating a wheel lift truck or a flat bed, changing tires, delivering fuel, occasional jump starts, greeting customers and making sure their needs are satisfied before closing the call daily inspections of truck and equipment, and daily paper work. We pay weekly and after 90 days applicant would be eligible for a monthly bonus based on number of calls run for the bonus month. Aflac and other programs available after 90 days.
