It’s honestly sad, as a business owner, the type of people you encounter sometimes.
Right now, I’m patiently waiting to see if this review gets posted so I can tell the FULL story — from the original phone call all the way up to what led to this situation.
And before anybody says, “That’s unprofessional. You shouldn’t talk to a customer like that.”
Listen… I get it. You’re right.
But there comes a point where customer service goes out the window when a customer starts disrespecting you.
I’m here to provide a service and treat my customers with respect. But you are NOT going to come into my establishment, disrespect me, tell me how to do my job, and then argue with me when I’m trying to explain to you how window tint actually works.
Over WINDOW TINT. 🤦♂️
This isn’t Chick-fil-A. This isn’t McDonald’s. This isn’t Walmart. I’m a small business owner, and I’m not going to stand there and allow somebody to disrespect me just because they’re a customer.
You can disagree with me. You can question something. You can even be unhappy with something. We can have a conversation about it.
But once you start disrespecting me, all that “the customer is always right” stuff is OUT THE WINDOW.
And yes, I already know some people are going to say I should have handled it differently. That’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion.
At a certain point, I already know a bad review is probably coming anyway, so I’d rather tell my side of the story than allow somebody to leave out everything that happened leading up to the situation.
There are always multiple sides to a story.
The difference this time is… there’s a recording.
And I honestly believe that once she realized she was being recorded, she may think twice about leaving that review. And if she does leave one, hopefully she tells the truth about what actually happened. She may tell it differently, but I’ll have my side — and the recording — to go along with it.
So now we wait. 👀
Stay tuned.
