Before I went into business. I was the service and production manager of a bus manufacturer. I handled the warranty and a lot of issues after delivery. I tried my hardest to find the root cause of issues and get people to understand why. If this RV manufacturer did the same they would understand that this customer is beyond frustrated. His RV has leaked since day 1. He bought a car port to keep it dry, and that collapsed and damaged the roof further. He has spent thousands fixing it and transporting it up the dealer who never investigated the root cause. Now we’re fixing it right. The root issue? The butyl on the bottom of the wine guard antenna was damaged during install. To make matters worse, the Alpha lap sealant that Lippert insists needs to be used failed dramatically. I gave the customer some options. I hate this for people.

Proud papa moment. This is why we do it! The early mornings and the late nights. I worked my 60+ hours last week by Thursday (in the pouring rain on Monday and Thursday as well) in order to get to Albany and support my son’s lacrosse club. It was a gorgeous weekend on a beautiful campus. The boys went undefeated winning all 5 games and bringing home the championship medals in a great game against a Vermont team. A quick dip in Oneida lake in the way home and we’re back to the grind just in time for Air Conditioner week!

Here’s what started it all! For 10 years I was the service and production manager at a bus manufacturer. Dougie (pictured) was racing microds all over NY state and we needed an RV. I bought a bus and converted it to a camper. This thing was awesome and we had so much fun with the ability to pack up and head out. With diesel 5.89 at the pumps right now I’m ok with it being in someone else’s hands.

Boy do I miss camping with these two dogs. They were the worst camping dogs ever. Up at 5 AM and ready for bed at 7 pm. Always cold or hot and hungry. Ellie and Gunther taught me the definition of loyalty and I miss them every day. Happy weekend everyone!

Conditions were less than ideal but still beats a day in the office! When this customer phoned needing a bedroom slide replacement we were both grateful that I hadn’t disposed of his dining room slide floor from last year that we were able to cut the size we needed from and reinstall. A sheet of 1” plywood would have doubled the cost of this repair. My grandpa was a dairy farmer and nothing on the farm went to waste. The trick is remembering where you put it!
