If anyone noticed a lot of motorcycles in the area on Monday, it was one of two groups from the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge -- an 11,000 mile 14 day journey across the U.S. where riders raise money for their favorite charity. These riders have no idea of their destination. GPS is not allowed and paper maps are given to them at each check point for the next segment. Hotels aren't allowed either, these riders have to sleep outside next to their motorcycles each night. There should still be a second group of riders coming through the area sometime in the next week. My buddy Dustyn that I worked with at the dealership in Milwaukee should be part of this second group. If you happen to catch any of them while they are passing through, make sure to cheer them on, as this is no small feat! Dustyn has already logged almost 3,500 miles in the first 90 hours! We wish good luck and safe travels to Dustyn and all his fellow Hoka Hey riders.

This Saturday is the annual parade and cookout in Tapiola. Anyone wanting to ride their motorcycle in the parade needs to be lined up on South River Road at 9:30 that morning. The shop will be closed on Friday, July 3, but we hope to see you all in Tapiola on Saturday!

Lots going on in Tapiola this 4th of July. The annual 4th of July parade will start at 10:30 Friday morning. Any customers wishing to ride their motorcycles along with us in the parade need to be lined up by 9:30 on South River Road. As always, there will be food and kids games at the Pavilion afterwards. Check out the Otter Lake Sportsmen's Club next door for bloody marys and food, too.

The shop will be closed on the 4th but we hope to see you in Tapiola!

Road construction is starting today on Tapiola Rd. Anyone wanting to get to our shop from Houghton, Hancock or Calumet way will need to take 41 past Chassell and come up Arnheim Rd.
